I Like ItI Don’t Like It

The images from Barack Obama's trip abroad have been, one might say, picture perfect. From the stern shot of Obama with Gen. David Petraeus to the somber photos from Israel's Holocaust Museum, one guesses that Obama's campaign couldn't be more pleased.

As for John McCain -- well, that's another story:

MONDAY

McCain in a golf cart with George H. W. Bush at Walker's Point in Kennebunkport, Maine:

TUESDAY

As oil companies announce their massive quarterly profits, McCain makes a campaign stop at Buxton Oil Inc.:

WEDNESDAY

McCain takes questions from reporters about a range of domestic and foreign policy issues -- in front of an aisle of cheese:

Then, via Jed Report, McCain holds an event in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and 900 of the 1600 seats in the auditorium remain empty:

Even though Bush 41 is 84 years old, he looks a lot heartier. Not a good comparison for the voters to make.

The McCain people don't have a clue when it comes to back drops. While the dairy case is symbolic of higher food costs, it's an ugly backdrop. Plus, he looks completely out of place in his suit and tie. He probably hasn't been inside a supermarket, in decades and it shows.

Finally, the sign on the golf cart that reads: "Property of #41 - Hands Off!" is surreal. It speaks volumes about Republican exclusivity and paranoia.

Not to mention that if McSame doesn't like it said that he's running for Bush's third term, it may not be a bright idea to pose for a photo-op with Poppy Bush.

Image is how latte liberals living in the 'there is no war on terror' bubble define reality. Pass the popcorn.

No--image is how the Republican Bush administration have governed the country. They started a war by likening it to "rolling out a new product." They "create their own reality." Bush was told about the 9/11 attacks and just sat there at his grade school photo op in Florida. Then there was Katrina, when we were treated to his posed flyover picture and a weird televised speech for which they had to truck in lights because there was no power in the city. And on and on. Now they've run the country so far into a ditch that their photo ops only work for the people in the country that don't understand that Bush sent kids to Iraq to die for the oil companies and the war profiteers, a second Bush 43 tern, a permanent Republican majority, and an American empire anchored by permanent Iraqi bases.

So don't lecture liberals or progressives about images. We've had four years of obscene images (Abu Ghraib comes to mind) jammed down our throats.

I hate people that claim they can predict the future. That they can see into the future.
That their religion is better yours. That the end is near and they will be saved.
That their Christ is better the your Christ.
Yet on a evening last ,I did behold a scene ,in a large northern city, cool with the coming of fall
A thousand well dressed older people with signs repeating a chant "McCain, McCain, McCain"
On the outside stood one lonely figure with a small hand drawn sign saying
“He's too freaking old”

You know, though, last week I remember reading things about McCain having a horrible week. This week it's the same headlines with no real context of last week's mess ups.

When is this going to start having a cumulative negative effect on this guy? Talk about a Teflon candidate!

McCain is too funny. What's even funnier is the fact that he has a legitimate chance to win. I think it speak volumes about our country. We are in love with pain and that's why we deserve McCain as our president. At this point, let them run this country into the ground!! We have democrats split, we allow Fox News to get away with propaganda, we wait for every lil gaffe Obama makes and ignore McCain's many gaffes. The P.U.M.A. people are a result of bitter, nasty and divisive strategy from their ring leader(Hillary). She couldve fought him on theissues like he did, instead she used race, class and sex to gain momentum towards the end. The media didnt call her on it so the are responsible too. Barack is the democratic candidate and I'd hate to see how the party would look because of PUMAs bitterness. If they remain this way, the democratic party mind as well blow it up.

I'm not a fan of Hillary's tactics, but the divided Democratic party started long before this primary season. Ralph Nader managed to turn liberal guilt into Democratic self-loathing. We look hard for flaws in our candidates and when we find them, we pull and pull until they unravel like an old sweater. We have to accept that no candidate will share all of our beliefs, and in my case, no candidate for American President will ever be liberal enough, but someone who's not liberal enough is soooooo much better than a war-mongering buffoon.

McCain needs to get some people who know how to do stagecraft. It is obvious the ones doing it now have no clue what they are doing.
His staff has let him down in more then one way. The only thing they seem to know how to do is attack and even in this, they go for overkill and bad timing, making McCain appear whiney, cranky and mean.
That stuff they threw out in regard to Obama's visit to the museum was out of line and way low. It will probably offend many Jewish Americans.
McCain needs new staff.

There's a not-so-subtle-message in McCain's stance in front of the cheese aisle: "I am not lactose intolerant!" Thereby proving the toughness of his digestive system. Obama's daughter gave away the secret that the Senator does not like ice cream. Could it be that he just can't handle it??
