For all of my ideological differences with the man, I've always appreciated the way MSNBC's Joe Scarborough has seemed to applaud and encourage people of all leanings to get engaged in the political life of the country. But I have to condemn his actions this morning, where he launched into an anti-blogger diatribe that was both defamatory and, even worse, cliched. Now, I'll admit that I, having long given up blogging from home (which too often led to shameful practices, like the watching of Judging Amy reruns on TNT), personally benefit from actually coming into an office, where I am encouraged to wear actual pants and am soothed psychologically by the clickety-clack of other people's keyboards. Still, the key difference between me and Joe Scarborough is that I am right on the "Surge" and he is wrong, and changing into my flannel footie PJ's isn't going to change that.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a bag full of crushed up Cheeto dust to mail to MSNBC's Manhattan headquarters.

[WATCH.]

Bottom line is if there wasnt a Democratic "Surge" in the 2006 elections...then Rumsfeld would have never been fired, the surge would have never happened and more Americans and Iraqis would have died....Bush changed course ONLY because he HAD to...So a Republican taking any credit for the surge is Stupid and the fact that Democrats do not talk about this fact is also stupid.

Joe is so odd. I mean his views are arrogant and he is always talking over his guests. But what I find really odd is Joe's lips/mouth. Did you ever see when they superimpose someone else's talking lips on a still picture of another person? Conan does it all the time. Well thats what I see when watching Joe. It looks as though he has someone else's lips that just don't rightly fit his face. It's like his lips are too small for his face and his nose is too big. Anyone?

And his eyes are two small also, they sink into his arrogant face, he's unwatchable as well as Buchanan, and the other little wise a--, little what's his name who seems to have no obvious qualifications except that his father was some kind of reporter.

Joe is worse this morning, the 24th, than he was yesterday & the 'Cheetos' remarks are still flying.

Joe is in "BLOWhard Joe" mode today....... Maybe he reads his daily ratings and thinks "his" show needs a boost. Whatever...... No excuse for how he TALKS OVER Mika when he is in this 'mode'.

When Joe is like this, I either change over to CNN Morning or hit the mute button - with GREAT satisfaction.

Regarding the "SURGE", it was purported to give the Iraqis space to achieve POLITICAL RECONCILIATION and that has not, my dear friends :-), taken place. This amnesia by the MSM does nothing to adjust my current opinion of them - which follows:

My take is that the MSM either rarely does their homework OR they do and then IGNORE it because it does NOT follow their 'storyline'.......

IMHO, sending Cheeto dust to MSNBC only 'feeds the beast' that Joe BLOW really is and I refuse to do so.

I just change the channel or enjoy hitting my MUTE button.

I agree. It's really annoying how Meeka always has to kiss his a** and say how 'he's not biased, and "your not hated Joe." It's unbelieveable. I don't disklike her so much, but am beginning to think she's a Joe lapdog.

The real question is why MSNBC give this clown three hours five days a week to act like a playground bully and to repeat r-ight w-ing talking points of the day.

Jeff Zucker CEO & President of NBC Uni came on last week and PRAISED Morning Joe as the ONLY News / Political program of its kind.....

Part of my reasoning WHY no Cheeto dust to MSNBC.

You gotta' believe that with Joe's EGO that the Cheeto idea would just INFLATE his OVER estimated OPINION of himself.

I also watched this guy this morning and yes he is much worse today than yesterday. He obviously doesn't understand the surge either and what the intent was. I believe he thinks he can back Obama into a corner with what he is doing and saying. Too bad for him, Obama and his campaign is much smarter than Joe Scarborough. Hope someone starts a petition to get him off that show as I think it is a good show but without him. Isn't it time for another vacation, Joe?

Don't hit mute. Turn it off. If enough people turn it off he will be gone. Rachel Maddow is next in line for her own show. Getting rid of Joe will help that come to be. If J.M. was so correct, why did it have to be edited? Why, instead of showing his real answer they tossed in the B.O. war loser? Because that's what they wanted out there. Joedeadintern needs to go.

Joe is a republican ex congressman and a lawyer. He usually goes after Obama every morning. I watch him to hear what right leaning people (Joe likes to call them middle america) believe about issues like torture, trade etc.

His standard reply to any email message he disagrees with is to go eat cheetos in the basement.

As a Cheetos afficianado, I feel particularly defamed by clueless Joe's blasphemous rhetoric.

Yes, I like Cheetos; yes, I "get" the latest McCain gaffe; yes, I think Republicans richly deserve every bit of marginalization the electorate hands them.

But, no, I am not a slob.

My husband, on the other hand, who happens to be of the same species as Scarborough, is another matter.

But he hates Cheetos almost as much as he hates the GOP.

I'd love to see a photoshop of Scarborough as would truly suit him -- with cheetoes coming out of both nostrils and both ears. Really BIG cheetoes. And maybe one for his bum.

In the beginning, the appeal to Joe Scarborough was that he wasn't afraid to criticize his own party. With that said, once the Democratic primaries started, right from the bat he was bashing Obama quite unfairly. And when it was obvious that Obama was going to win, he became even more harsh. So it doesn't surprise me that he's on the defense about pro-Obama bloggers calling him out.

And to what purpose Willie Geist serves on the show, I still haven't figured that out yet.

Willie's an overgrown GOP fratboy just like Joe. He's only on TV because of his dad anyway. He speaks in the most creepy monotone ever.

I enjoy the puffed and the hot Cheetos. World War II actually started in September 1939 and ended in September 1945. Some historians identify 1931 as the begining of WWII, others believe 1937. Not in 1941 as Scarborough claims. Now, he may explain it was the year that the US entered the War, but it's not the year WWII began.

The folly with Scarborough is his lazy thinking, his inaccurate statements, his playing with the facts, his lack of precision in the world of blah-blah talk show. One should expect more from the Right. He's an easy target to make fun because he comes across as a smart guy, but he's biased to the point of ridicule.

He indirectly claims objectiveness but it's really providing the Right with air time when don't have an argument or a position. Having the 'opposite' opinion of an issue is not being objective. Objective thinking is taking the current set of facts, analyzing thems through reason and evidence, and then coming to a conclusion.

Watch the video below to see his lack of facts and how he's a punching bag to critical thinkers.

I beg to differ on just one of your statements : "..he comes across as a smart guy...". IMO the moment he opens his mouth one can tell how dumb and ignorant he is.

Plus, as you point out on his fudge of the year WWII started, besides getting that too wrong, wtf kind of analogy was he trying to make with the date the Anbar awakening started? It was worst than talking apples and oranges, more like apples and orangutangs. His co-hosts understood he was making no sense and were just left mute, nobody calls him out on his stupidity except Maddows when she guests, which is not often enough.
Why does NBC feel like they have to have such an idiot to represent balance? As if liberals don't criticize their own enough already!

My bad. What I meant to say is that Scarborough, a lawyer by training and former Congressmember, comes across as "legitimate" (legitimate Right-wing wacko) because of those credentials, as spurious as these credentials may be.

It was 1941 if, like Republicans and Scarborough, you believe the sun revolves around the USA.

Any chance I would ever respect this man evaporated the day he stomped off the set because Rachel Maddow was cleaning his clock.

What a coward. What a baby.
