Sherri Shepherd Apologizes To Barbara Walters, Clarifies Remarks On Abortion

A day after it was reported that Sherri Shepherd told black Christian women's magazine Precious Times that she has had "more abortions than she would like to count" and that she wished Barbara Walters could be "saved," Shepherd clarified her remarks on air during "The View."

"Barbara if I offended you in any way, I apologize. I love you," Shepherd said, after admitting her comment was a joke gone wrong.

"I wasn't being flippant about abortions, i wasn't glamorizing [it]," she added. "I want people to know not everybody's perfect."

She also said part of the quote was left out of the piece:

I had suffered from a lot of shame and guilt, and I didn't know how to forgive myself, and a wonderful woman at one of the women's conferences I speak at came to me and said, "Sherri, you know when you get to heaven all your babies are going to be there saying, 'Hi momma.'"

Glad she clarified her Baba Wawa comments because don't nobody like a Christian trying to covertly convert them to some psycho religion.

As far as her abortion comments she was a loosey goosey in her teen years and made some mistake. But I don't think God had anything to do with waking her up about these abortions. I think her body just said it can't take anymore and she started using condoms or stopped having unprotected sex.

Sheri Shepherd is not a journalist, she is not a conversati­onalist.is not a comedian, She isnt even funny. She is not knowledgeable on anything not even her own religion. How did she get on this show. She is academically illiterate. If folks think black women are like this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE think again. I have a daughter who is black, savy and sophisticated as are many young black women in America and can carry on a conversation with the best of them AND be humorous. WHERE DID THEY GET THIS WOMAN. Its like she is pretending to be a dumb blonde. That act doesn't even work for dumb blondes anymore.
