Sienna Miller Files Privacy Complaint Against UK Papers

Sienna Miller has launched a legal battle against News International and photo agency Big Pictures at the High Court.

Law firm Carter-Ruck has served a writ for breach of privacy against the News of the World, the Sun, and the Big Pictures agency relating to a series of articles about the star.

It is believed that the writ relates to two articles that appeared in the Sun where Big Pictures contributed photos. The stories and pictures reported on Miller's holiday in Italy and also referred to her friendship with Balthazar Getty, heir to the Getty oil fortune.

Miller is taking action over a further two articles that appeared in the News of The World.

She has previously taken legal action against the two titles after the papers used photos of her filming a nude scene for a movie.

Yet, it appears it will be difficult to win an invasion of privacy case of pictures being printed that depict-- 1) Kissing a married man while topless on a boat. In public. 2) Standing naked, with a married man, at the window of a hotel. 3.) Dining out, in public with a married man caressing your face.

For all of the people asking who she is, I realized that I recognize her name but for no other reason than that I've heard it a lot. This made me think of something Art De Salvo (Gilbert Godfrey), a public image consultant, said to Duckman after Duckman was involved in a public scandal (Kind of paraphrasing here): "Right now they hate you, but they'd climb over their own mothers to hear more about you. Call me unhip, but this story led me to ask myself, who is Sienna Miller and what is it, other than her blond hair, blue eyes, and breasts that makes her a significant person? So, I went to imdb.com to see. Found out that she hasn't made a single significant moviein terms of critical or commercial success. In fact, her appearances on talk shows and on programs dedicated to the"best celebrity bodies" pretty much outnumber her acting roles.

She has, however, just wrapped a movie with the provocative title, "A Woman of No Importance," set for a 2009 release.

So, I have no reason but to conclude that Miller is objecting to exposure of the only things that make her notable to some--her blond hair, blue eyes, and breasts. It isn't because of her acting. She obviously is one of the many people who's in films purely for her looks, while countless struggling people who truly work hard and have talent will never have the good fortune to step before a movie camera.

In the 2005 film "Casanova" (directed by Lasse Hallstrom, with Heath Ledger, Jeremy Irons, Oliver Platt, Lena Olin, largely filmed in Venice) I think she turns in a fine, lighthearted comic performance, besides looking fab-u-luz.
In Steve Buscemi's 2007 "Interview" she delivers a credible performance. Give her a break, she can't help being gorgeous. If you haven't seen these, you should.
No comment on her personal life; it's her bidness, although I don't think breaking up marriages, which may already be well fractured, should become a pattern...­although YMMV.

You know what? I'm sick and tired of these celebrities who want to be famous, and have privacy. You can't. Fame and privacy is an oxymoron statement. When you accpet fame, you give up privacy. If you want to be in the "public eye", then you have no right to complain when the public chooses to "look".

She gave an interview not too long ago in which she complained that people focused on her private life instead of her acting. That night she attended a premiere, except she didn't wear pants (just tights). She wants to be all over the tabliods, and then complain about it.
