Reading this thread, it looks like the Democrats are the new Republicans. No matter. Left or right you need to check out the strange bedfellows.

Plan A: B. Obama/Lincoln C. '08!

Chafee would make a great surprise VP pick.

yikes. I think I might have just inadvertantly spammed this thread. I appologize for that; the new comment system seems to be hit and miss on my computer here.

I think it's a brilliant idea. Leave it to the O campaign to come up with this genius idea. Like another poster said, I hope they do it right around the Republican Convention.

I truly think Obama wants to and is going to pick Hillary but these PUMA folks are messing up things for her, they should just chill out and be patient.

This is the definition of bipartisnship. And expect the Repugs to start their bashing any minute.

The right is welcomed with open arms. The left? Not so much.

Stop whining. Obama is reaching out to republican's that have already endorsed him. That's a far cry from embracing the right wing. And it's a great strategy for further eroding the republican brand this fall.

Yeah, who can forget the right's agitating for gay adoption rights that O consistently endorses?

Just because he doesn't do ideology by laundry-list doesn't mean he's not progressive.

True, but when the first thing you throw under the bus are Constitutional freedoms, one can hardly be called "progressive."

I think this is an awesome idea. it's mighty nice to see polictians on both sides
working together for the American cause. I am very excited that in my life time it's
finally going to happen.

I hope Colin Powell speaks at the Convention. I think a lot of Independents and Republicans have great respect for him and that would really help Obama.

Chuck Hagel would be a great VP....Smart and a strong military man.

Then maybe MacThuselah should pick him.

Actually, I like Hagel as SecDef a LOT better. BO needs to pick someone more in line with most of his viewpoints for VP.

Except HR-C supporters. Obam-a Kultists still do everything in their power to alienate them.

Umm to be honest they alienate themselves! How else would we know that they are HR-C supporters?

They deserve the alienation.

the bitter broomstick brigade needs to move on already, haven't they noticed their irrelevance yet?

The PUMA's are alienating themselves.

Obam-a Kultists here. And using that phrase, that right there is one of the reasons you probably feel so alienated.

If we support him, that alienates you.
If we suggest anyone but Hillary for vp, that alienates you.
If we praise any idea he has, any thing he accomplishes, that alienates you.
If we take exception and write a post back to you, pointing this out, this alienates you.

I sort of get the idea the only thing doesn't alienate you is the chance to pop in and call us an Obam-a Kultist. Or worse. Which we find rather alienating.

So at the risk of alienating you, I'll post this.

Sweet.

If you're a Republican and willing to stand up and be counted, you deserve a great big shout-out from the rest of Sen. Obama's supporters.
