Rudy Giuliani's Son Sues Duke After Getting Kicked Off Golf Team

DURHAM, N.C. — The son of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani is suing Duke University, claiming he was wrongfully kicked off the golf team.

Andrew Giuliani claims he was dismissed without cause from the golf team earlier this year because coach O.D. Vincent III wanted to cut the team of 13 players by about half. The lawsuit claims the coach has interferred with Giuliani's efforts toward becoming a professional golfer.

Duke University spokesman Keith Lawrence said Thursday the university was discussing the lawsuit but didn't have an immediate comment.

The 198-page lawsuit was filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court by Durham attorney Robert Ekstrand. Ekstrand did not immediately return a message for comment.

Vincent knows how to build teams. He knows how to build winners. He knows how to build character.

Implicitly, given Vincent's stipulation the rest of the team sign on to readmitting Junior-liani, it's a character matter for a guy to whom character matters, and about another guy who clearly NEEDS a role model with character.

P.S. I can still remember AG as a pint-sized brat at his dad's mayoral inauguration.

If you were from New York and had to live through months and months of the mayor's marital problems and the embarrassment Rudy caused for Donna - Andrews's Mother - you'd understand why they are no longer friendly.

I suppose I can find smypathy for Andrew for living through that experience, however, I still think he is a spoiled brat!

Hooray for the Repubbles attempt to prove that the well placed cannot conduct frivilous lawsuits, but are entitled to be payed off for any inconvience or embarrassment. Sounds like he could be maimed for life. What is his handicap? I would guess in the neighborhood of, oh, say 9-11. That frivilous lawsuit that the repubbles scalded John Edwards with(young girl's innards sucked out of her body in a spa) really pales in comparison to someone of obvious breeding being cut from a golf team. Hooray for reality.

Do you even have a point here or do you just not understand the nature of the frivolous lawsuits that that ambulance chasing ihstkicker Edwards filed throughout his career? Edwards sued doctor repeatedly and drove up their insurance premiums which forces many out of work, forces them to pass of the increases to the patient, or decrease the quality of care. The next time you or a family member gets sick have you attorney take care of it.

Also, the fact this kid is Giuliani's son has nothing to do with the merits of the case. Just because someone comes from privelige doesn't automatically exclude them for seeking justice when he has been wronged which is the case here.

It appears that most people on this site are pissed because Giuliani's son is wealthy and plays a country club sport.

I'm sure if he were any good at it he wouldn't have been cut from the team. Just 'cause daddy is Mr. 9/11 doesn't by default mean his golf game is worth a cup of spit. I can only imagine he got cut because he doesn't have any talent. That's not exactly grounds for litigation.
