McCain On Obama's Iraq Plan: "I Think It's A Pretty Good Timetable" (VIDEO)

In an interview with CNN Friday, John McCain said that he thinks Obama's 16-month timetable for withdrawing troops from Iraq is "a "pretty good timetable." ABC's the Note points out that this is quite a reversal from where the candidate was months ago:

Back in January of this year, John McCain pilloried Mitt Romney for encouraging President Bush in April 2007 to develop a private "series of timetables and milestones" for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq.

"Timetables was the buzzword for those that wanted to get out," McCain scolded Romney at a Jan. 30 debate at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, Calif.

How the (time)tables have turned.

During a Friday interview with CNN, McCain called a 16-month withdrawal from Iraq "a pretty good timetable."

Here is McFraud's judgement:"Iraq is the front in the war on terror because Bin L@den said so!"; I(Europreacher) call this being naive to religiously trust bin l@den...

McBush can not think. His thought processes ceased to exist years ago. He is told what to say by Bush, Cheney, Fox-------and finally OBAMA. This is getting hilarious.

I"m working on a new spec script:

"The Loneliness of the Long Distance Flip-Flopper"

Any thoughts of who should play the lead role?

How about the ghost of Emmett Kelly?

Try and guess which politician or pundit said the following: 1) "You can support the troops but not the president." 2) "Well, I just think it's a bad idea. What's going to happen is they're going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years." 3) "Explain to the mothers and fathers of American servicemen that may come home in body bags why their son or daughter have to give up their life?" 4) "[The] President...is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy." 5) "American foreign policy is now one huge big mystery. Simply put, the administration is trying to lead the world with a feel-good foreign policy." 6) "If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy." 7) "I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning...I didn't think we had done enough in the diplomatic area."

8) "I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later, these questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no clear funding program. There is no agenda to bolster our over-extended military. There is no explanation defining what vital national interests are at stake. There was no strategic plan for war when the President started this thing, and there still is no plan today" 9) "Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is." 10) "I think it's also important for the president to lay out a timetable as to how long they will be involved and when they will be withdrawn." Wow! Where's the mainstream media on these quotes? You'd think that Democrats and cable news talking heads uttering such quotes would be making huge headlines... ...except that all those quotes come from Republican leaders and FOX in the 1990s when President Clinton was committing troops to Bosnia. (1=Tom Delay, 2=Joe Scarborough, 3=Sean Hannity, 4=Rick Santorum, 5=Tom Delay, 6=Karen Hughes [on behalf of George W. Bush], 7=Trent Lott, 8=Tom Delay, 9 & 10=George W. Bush.)

Let's see, JM KNOWS how to win wars, he KNOWS how to get Bin laden and where he is, he KNOWS how to stop Al Qaeda, he KNOWS Maliki very well, he KNOWs what Maliki will do and not do, he KNOWS what Obama is thinking, he KNOWS what the Iraqi people want.

JM KNOWS everything... except what he has said previously. He is UNFIT to be POTUS!

Buush/McCa1n really ought to let 08ama take over foreign policy. Here's the score, so far:

== In a 2007 debate, 08ama said that if there is actionable intelligence on OBL (and/or his operatives) in Af-ghanistan and the leaders can't or won't act, we will. Months later, the military used a Predator to take out "high value targets" in Af-ghanistan.

== In a 2007 08ama has stated that he would meet with the leaders of I-ran or any "rogue nation". In 2008, the Buush administration engages in direct diplomacy with I-ran and Sy-ria.

== In 2007 08ama has stated that we must have a time line for withdrawal from Iraq. In 2008, the Iraqi government has essentially endorsed his time line. McCa1n now agrees with this course of action.

== In 2007 08ama has stated that we've taken our eye off the ball with regards to Af-ghanistan and that we need to send more troops there. The Buush administration and John McCa1n now agree with this assessment.

That's just "off the top". And then there's 08ama's phenomenal "world tour". The charges of "naive", "too inexperienced", and "what has 08ama done to deserve the presidency", etc. are now officially rendered impotent... as impotent as the McCa1n campaign.

Boy! How presumes to know a lot. "I know . . . I know . . . He wan't say that. I know him very well."
Wow - such arrogance since that was exactly what was said. 16 months - 2010. I dislike more every time he opens his mouth. Makes my skin shiver with that a bad feeling. How can anyone support him with that garbage that comes out of his mouth?

Finally, he says something that makes sense. His motto: When you have no ideas of your own, please watch an Obama speech.

Last week for the first time McCain emphasized that "I said Bush was "losing" the war until the Surge".

But though he criticized Rumsfeld, he was hardly an outspoken opponent of the war in any way, including the incompetent way it was being waged, and got little news coverage in this respect.
If he had, his campaign would be playing clips of his "opposition". Instead the only clips we have show him supporting Bush and the war in every respect.
Now he says this. This is a cynical way of pandering to all positions - the hardline one and the sensible one, which he has never embraced previously.
This could work for him, putting the necessary "distance" between himself and Bush, which never existed in reality.
The electorate could be stupid enough to buy into the new "moderate" image.

Now, even John McBush and his mentor Bushie agree that Barack Obama has good judgment. So much for "100 years" and "naive."

Withdraw" based on conditions on the ground" is not agreeing with Obama.
