Hollywood Reporter:

MTV is developing an unscripted project with Elizabeth Berkley and her husband, artist Greg Lauren, that is based on Ask-Elizabeth, the self-esteem workshops for teen girls that Berkley created.

Berkley has volunteered her time facilitating Ask-Elizabeth workshops in schools and for organizations around the country for 2 1⁄2 years. Her Web site, Ask-Elizabeth.com, features a library of video content intended to help empower girls worldwide.

The MTV project, with the working title "Ask-Elizabeth," is being developed in the network's News & Docs division. Amy Bailey, vp development in the department, said Berkley approached MTV with the idea.

Is there anything of Berkley we haven't already seen? Besides talent, of course.

I wonder if she includes a session on the plastic surgery she's had and the starving diets she's been on since she was in grade school. Self-esteem, girls, is fine unless you're fat.

Glad I was not the only one who noticed.... she definitely looks different.

wonder how she will work that into her seminars, as a positive thing.

She may not be of the caliber of Streep, and she made a bad, bad choice with Showgirls, but she is a decent person, and her work on CSI: Miami has been very good.

She's trying to do good things here, and all some childish people can do is knock her for a bad career choice she made when she was 22 years old. PROBABLY based on the advice and pressure of others, I might add.
All those that didn't do at least one really stupid thing in their early 20s, please raise your hand.
I won't believe you.

Unless your self-esteem needs a bit of a boost, and the only way you can find to do it is to denigrate someone you know relatively little about, lay off already.

I wish her good luck in whatever she endeavors to do with her life.

That's fantastic! Now even more young girls can equate being a stripper with having self-esteem!

I gotta agree, what happened to the M (Music) in that show.

I like Elizabeth and Showgirls really wasn't that bad. I mean it was high camp but she has a smokin' hot body and not afraid to show it. I've seen hundreds of movies that were a whole lot worse.

So good for her, if she is out there giving help for whatever she can.

I think it's good timing. It's been long enough since she made "Showgirls" for young girls not to remember. Anything from her non-"Saved By the Bell" can be on a strictly need-to-know basis.

There's a great song on the Clashes Sandanista album where a DJ is prattling on and on and he takes a call. The caller just says "Hey man, play some music . . OK?" I'm sure this show will be helpful but what happened to the 'M' in MTV???????
