Blackwater Got Gig Protecting Obama In Afghanistan

Sen. Barack Obama has not been a fan of private police like Blackwater in war zones, and some news outlets even reported that they were spurned for his trip last week to Afghanistan and Iraq. But Whispers confirms that Blackwater did handle the Democratic presidential candidate's security in Afghanistan and helped out in Iraq. What's more, Obama was overheard saying: "Blackwater is getting a bad rap." Since everything appeared to go swimmingly, maybe he will take firms like Blackwater out of his sights, the company's supporters hope.

Assuming for a second that it's true, it doesn't surprise me. The MSM will naturally bury this. The progressive media will try to get as much out of this as possible. And odds are it will end up in Jeremy Scayhill's new Blackwater book. Which means it will end up as yet another talk show sound bite on Democracy Now or NPR.

My question is who overheard and where is their name to attribute these comments to. I've been down this road for over 18 mths and until someone puts a statement in quotes with a name attribution I am not going to believe it. And when it is Paul Bedard Mr. Gossip dude I will be very skeptical. Tell me who, what, when, where and why then I'll consider the source. I'm tired of being taken a fool during this campaign season. Thank God I've never believed chain emails, but factcheck.org has a great page on how to notice them right off as well as how many are wrong. Oh, and Snopes puts stupid false emails against Obama as the 2nd biggest urban legend in the world. Wow, at least the creeps that started all this have something.

Did he know Blackwater was providing assistance?

The security for this trip was planned months in advance by the Secret Service and the State Dept. - would he have been consulted in the planning stages? Could he have nixed them later on without causing a tempest in a teapot?

Perhaps it was planned by the State Dept - who own Blackwater.

the company's supporters hope...this sounds like a plant.
