Following Obama's trip abroad, it looked like the McCain campaign had lost a key talking point about Obama's failure to visit Iraq and Afghanistan recently enough.

But have no fear. Here's McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds on CNN today:

In fact, [Obama's] never met with President Uribe in Colombia, as John McCain has. He has still yet to take a trip to Mexico City to have those meetings there and his relationship with Canada, I think, took a turbulent roll through the primaries. So I think actually if you're to look at the experience of both candidates, that there are very telling differences.

These meetings that Barack Obama had taken throughout the week were a lot of meetings that John McCain was making for the fifth, sixth or seventh time in many cases, and these were his first meetings. So to compare them on the substance, we think, is really incomparable.

The underlying premise of the McCain campaign is that he can't win this election. They can only capture the White House if they can make Obama lose it. Standard Rove scorched earth formula. I hope the Obama campaign tweaks it's message and says McCain USED TO TO BE an honorable man and it is disappointing that he is waging such a desperate dishonorable campaign.

Actually this interview was pretty funny. The interviewer asked T'ucker to respond to the fact that McThusela had visited the same countries as BO, and had in fact given speeches in other countries, and was now complaining that BO was taking a premature "victory lap".... T'ucker changed the subject citing BO hasn't visited Columbia and Mexico. He didn't really answer the question. I can't believe the interviewer let him get away with it.

Wow, does the McCain campaign really want Sen. Obama to make them look bad in central and south America too? Or do they just want to whine about how nobody is paying any attention to them some more?

McCain should keep his mouth shut. If Obama goes to Mexico it will be the same blowout as Europe and the Middle East. Maybe old John can pose in front of a Chorizo sausage cabinet at the hispanic local supermarket.

McCain appears to be Obama's number one fan. His whole campaign is about Obama and in Obama's campain Mccain is irrelevant. Obama speeks about what he would do as President and Mccain speeks about what Obama would do as President. The press covers Obama and only covers the negative and insulting statements from the McCain Campaign about Obama. The press is being unfair to the American Public by covering up the mental confusion that McCain clearly demonstrates. As far as the surge working, it didn't. Not one goal of the surge was achieved (not reported by the press) and if being as McCain is on the Armed Services Committee of the Senate charged with over sight of the military allowed our country to go to war based upon 96 major lies, attack a non-threating country to take the oil and ignore the real terriorists, makes him a good candidate for President I don't see how that can be. If elected McCain will continue the carnage heaped upon the middle class in America as he carries out the devestation to the economy created by Bush.

Obama, run your campaign! Don't let those ignorant fools dictate your path. You made them look like jerks, now focus on what you will do for the economy. McCain must have some people there to try to sabotage you.

Mexico? Does that mean that the day O would be meeting with the President of Mexico that he'd be in a Taco Bell somewhere?

Yeah, McSame and his camplain want to whine some more about everyone pays attention to him, and no one covers ME, me and me!
Now he wants a little more egg on his face? Watch hundreds of thousands Canadians, Columbians, and Mexicans cheering for America...waving the American flag...while listening to Obama??
McSame and his camplain just keep playing defense....when you don't make any points on offense...you can't win! You can play a hell of a defensive game, but without points of your own....you ain't gonna win...no matter how much you whine that the refs. weren't fair!
McSame and his camplain sound like a bunch of middle school boys playing basketball, and they can't get a basket...but whine the refs. weren't fair, their cheerleaders were cheering for the team..we had homework to do before the game...and besides ...WE were playing a home game while the winning team was playing an AWAY game, so they had the advantage!
Alrighty then.....

The best part was when they asked him about the the differences of opinion that come from Mccain staffers and surrogates and then from McCain and his answer was that the candidate's answer is the one that the voters want to hear. So basically Mccain ust says what people want to hear, nice answer Tucker, please keep it up.

I guess the memo didn't make the rounds at McCain's headquarters.
Berate Obama for not visiting Jupiter -
And if he packs his bags, pray that we're alone in the Universe.
Otherwise you're screwed.

For all the accolades of his trip Obama made a major faux-pas. He failed to visit the Iraq-Pakistan border!
I'm Surprised McCain didn't point that out.
I hope Obama can survive that gaffe!

Can McCain can't win unless he tears down Obama. How sad. This man makes more mistakes, changes his position by the day..even my mother`in`law, who is republican who votes with the party without a nod says that McCain says whatever he can to be elected and she's seriously considering OBAMA. McCain is losing votes with all the attacks. You're watching a losing man's attempt to win, and he can't do it.

Didn't they learn their lesson from this last trip? Obama will charm the Canadians, Mexicans and Columbians. He'll get tons of press coverage and the leaders who want some of his charisma to rub off on them will be most happy to do photo ops, just like in Europe and the Middle East. Obama gets another opportunity to show that he belongs on the world stage.

It's almost like the McCain campaign WANTS to lose.

It's a trap. They want him to go there so they can accuse him of playing up to the Hispanics, I bet that's the first thing McJealous would say.
