Clinton

CNN:

It was just over one month ago Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama made a much-hyped public display of unity at a New Hampshire campaign stop. But more than 30 days later, the New York Democrat has rarely been seen at Obama's side, and she's only attended a handful of events on his behalf.

The reason for her ostensible absence from the campaign trail? She has an important day job, said her former campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe.

"Since that meeting in Unity, New Hampshire, the Senate has been in session," McAuliffe told MSNBC Monday. "I've tried to get her to travel and do a couple of events. And she hasn't been able to do those yet."

...

But McAuliffe, one of Clinton's most aggressive supporters during the prolonged Democratic primary race, said the New York Democrat has been working vigorously for Obama behind the scenes, and is about to assume a more public role in the campaign.

"I don't like to relay conversations between Senator Obama and Senator Clinton -- I know they have an extensive travel schedule for her," he said. "The requests have been piling up. Hillary Clinton has done more in her position of anybody that has come in second before. She's been working. She's been making calls. As soon as she gets done with her senate deals, she's going to hit the campaign trail."

All of you delusional Obama supporters who consider him a version of god need to take your inflated heads out of the clouds. I'm an Obama supporter. Just not that type of supporter, for the record. You might have forgotten what happened in 2000 and 2004. Both democratic candidates chose to ignore the Clintons and to oust them from their campaigns. If Kerry and Gore hadn't done that, we might have had a different president at the moment. Polls may look pretty now, but historically, they've held no significance until after the conventions. She should be campaigning for Obama whenever the Senate is out of session from now to November. You delusional Obama supporters have to learn to suck it up and deal with her. Because believe it or not, some people love her and will listen to her and not Obama. Now, I don't mean plastering her name on the ticket. She's best served in another position - one with power, and one in which she can actually make a difference. VP is not that spot. Her supporters pushing that position are demeaning her political power that she currently wields.

Second. She should not be campaigning for him everyday. These articles about "Where is Hillary now?" are pathetic. She's doing her job as my senator from New York. I want her here, working hard for New Yorkers instead of being a 24/7 lapdog for the Obama campaign. Campaigning for Obama is important, but so is her job.

'The requests have been piling up', per TM, who last week was pushing Kaine as VP.

Yet another example of the Queen's court straying to greener pastures. Bet he got a royal smackdown after he made those comments. Seems he's back on track now, and will tow the line in the future.

Shameful.

I hope they take their merry band of idiots to Mars until February, 2009.

She should stick with her Senate job and try to distinguish herself there. She could help the country most in that way if she really wanted to (help the country). If it isn't all about her ambition.

Here we go again. Why do you want the veep spot for H when there are other jobs in O's administration that are much better, that would make far better use of her talent and ability, than veep would? I just can't understand this push to get her a job so inferior to other jobs. Unless it's just outright stubbornness, just the principle of her having #2 if she can't have #1, with no thought
as to what is best for her.

She will never shine as veep, once the campaigning is over. She will just fade into the shadows, when he wins. They always do.

Doing her part would mean publicly denouncing, or privately controlling, the people who want to destroy the party and usher in 4 more years of Bush, all in her name.

They're so sure they're acting with her blessing. If she doesn't denounce them, maybe they're right about that. Which makes her a liar. Again.

" publicly denouncing, or privately controlling, the people who want to destroy the party"

She wouldn't denounce the DNC because she is too loyal the the Democratic Party!

If she doesn't campaign, it's "Where's Hillary?" If she does it's she not to be trusted. Note to Obamaniacs, you do not live in a vacuum. You are being watched, and not being winning in your ways.

Only a fool would fail to have their guard up with all the hateful surrogates she has smearing her former rival 24/7. If she addressed them publicly it would go a long way toward helping people forget her dirty campaign.

It is nice to learn that Hilary is planning on doing some extensive travel for Obama. It would be even nicer to have Hillary state, publicly, in very strong language, that she is not interested in any PUMA plans to hijack the convention on her behalf and acknowledge Obama is the one and only nominee.

Yeah, you keep clinging to that. And I'm sure you'd find your argument just as valid coming from someone else if the situation were exactly reversed and it was HRC's nomination that some intellectually dubious Obama group were trying to overthrow. *eyeroll*

I'd love to see 20 or so Age 55+ women with brittle bones, and equally brittle spiritis, try to hijack the convention. They would be laughed out of the Party and out of town.

I live in Denver by the way, and work less than 1/2 mile from the Pepsi Center. Maybe I'll set some traps out, baited with Ensure, prunes, Centrum Silver.

As an ardent Obama supporter who just happens to be 57, I am trying to understand why you find it necessary to bring up brittle bones, equally brittle spirits, Ensure, prunes and Centrum Silver.

I find PUMAs ridiculous, yes, but not because they are women or of a certain age group - but because they have lost themselves in the myth of Hillary Clinton and are being unreasonable.

She took a clue from W and used Rovian tactics against Obama. She should have taken a clue from Huckabee, who stayed in the race longer than was realistic, yet ran for Huckabee rather than against McCain and bowed out with grace and dignity. She should take a clue from Romney, who announced that he will "eat" the 25 million debt he has so that his party feels no obligation to help him out and will instead focus on their candidate.

McAuliffe is a joke who introduced Clinton as the next POTUS the very day when it became obvious to even a third grader that she would not be the nominee. She has done more than any other candidate who came in second? Ridiculous. She has done irreparable damage to the party (see every PUMA post since she got a clue and conceded) and she has done nothing to make up for it. She is not sorry. She goes out of her way to congratulate herself in every breath before she gets to mentioning Obama's name. Her 18million supporters won't donate to help her, and her Big donors want my $20 to help her,but won’t help Obama.
no thanks HC

I think the enthusiasm for Obama is not as high as people move on to day to day with near $5/gal gas prices. All his shining rhetoric ain't putting any additional money in my pocket or food on my table. His lack of presence over the past week should have been countered by his hit machine taking on McCain, but silence. Hillary warned everyone about this.

Speaking of Hillary, why am I not excited about Obama's short list of "Look who's coming to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave?". All of the people, all of them, are short of Foreign policy, of the list I am talking about people who have not said, "no VP." bona fides. What is he thinking, Yeah a white Southern Male sure might work, might not. I know what did seem to work. Rosie the riveter got those "working class" to vote for her. She fights back, is a perfect pit bull, and if people are looking for two problem solvers, I don't know why this is any longer such a bad idea. Yeah I know, Bill, but he is really out, no kidding this time. I think this is a show for what will become a truth, that Obama can and will only be President if and ONLY if he selects someone who is tried, tested, a wonk, a hawk, and who has broad mass appeal even with her high negatives. He is going to have to face facts and so am I.

0-man will not ask Hill to run because she is so much more experienced, informed and able to speak intelligently in response to issue questions... none of dos ahs, dahs, etc. Hill would be a good soldier and not try to embarrass him, but it would happen because of the difference in their qualifications.... All those experts to doppelganger, it is hard to keep the information straight and recall it appropriately without those pause sounds while you sort through the great amt. of new information absorbed in briefing sessions. Never mind the 3am call.

HRC should only be out there id she is going to be accomapnied by all those whacked out, whiny females who have threatened to vote for PaCain because they are not big girls. They don't seem to understand somebody has to win, and somebody has to lose. They tried to run with the big dogs and don't know the criteria. Now we have to endure this bs from PaCain and his minions about Billary's base! HRC is doing nothing to rein them in either. As devoted to her as they are purported to be, why aren't they following her marching orders....or are they? Umm-mm.

We're not his problem. However, those huge electoral-rich states filled with people who are "bitter and cling to their guns and God" are.

We're just a problem in terms of making it clear that there's no unity. But you guys are as big of a problem as we are.

Look at the attitude. Hardly a whiff of unity around.

Ann: I'm afraid you're clinging to a piece of wood from your sunken ship.

This isn't third grade and everyone does not get a participation medal; there was a winner and a loser, and your candidate lost. The stakes in this election are enormous.

Are you going to vote for the candidate with similar views, or are you going to dig in and act like a third grader? It's your choice.

She's a divider at her core. She's not what the country needs right now.
