A week after taking flak for her comments on abortion and Barbara Walters' apparent lack of religious faith, Sherri Shepherd explained how something like that could have happened.

"We're in a society today where people always want to catch you saying something or doing something," she said on "The View" Monday. "They take one part of what you might say, and it gets looped, and you get 300,000 hits [on YouTube]."

Later in the show, singer-songwriter Katy Perry came on to perform her hit single, "I Kissed A Girl." After the performance Whoopi Goldberg kissed her on the lips. Apparently, she liked it.
