Dems Spending $20 Million To Turn Out Hispanics

Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee are expected to unveil a $20 million investment in Hispanic voter mobilization Tuesday that targets most major battleground states.

DNC Chairman Howard Dean said the sum is unprecedented for a presidential campaign and represents a show of Democratic confidence that Latino voters could prove pivotal in states including New Mexico and Michigan.

Although Republican rival John McCain represents Arizona, a state with a strong Hispanic presence, Dean cited a poll last week by the Pew Hispanic Center showing Obama's approval rating with registered Latino voters at 66 percent nationwide, compared with 23 percent for McCain.

Based on the poll numbers I'd say the money is well spent. Could be the difference in states like New Mexico, Arizona, maybe even Texas if enough hispanic people showed up to vote.

NOt long before Lou Dobbs chimes in and Republicans develop they most clear camoaign strategy: Don't allow anyone that looks Hispanic to vote (even if they are US Citizens).

Obama already is leading McCain with over 65% of the latino vote.

The latino vote will be incredibly pivital in states like Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada, states where Obama is currently ahead.

He has tremendous support from Latino politicians from coast to coast, and, unlike John McCain, didin't flip flop on his initial support for the sensible immigration.

Obama is looking very, very, very good with this group right now.

I'm even hearing that Obama's candidacy will produce a record number of latino voters, just as it will produce a record number of black voters.

I would NEVER want someone's vote taken away from them......­..BUT I do NOT want illegals to be able to vote in this country - I wouldn't be able to vote in their country, that's for damn sure.
We need to be sure that ALL voters are able to identify who they are before voting.
