It's turning out to be a tabloid kind of day for Sen. Barack Obama.

First, John McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, suggested on a conference call that depicting the Illinois Senator alongside Britney Spears and Paris Hilton in a campaign ad is merely comparing "apples to apples."

At the same time, a line out of a new freestyle verse from rapper Ludacris posed a new celebrity-tinged question for the Obama campaign. "Hillary hated on you, so that bitch is irrelevant," Ludacris says in the song.

The rapper's remarks drew a sharp response from Sen. Clinton's former national finance co-chair, Yashar Hedayat.

"I hope Senator Obama has the presence of mind to denounce and distance himself from Ludacris," Hedayat wrote in an email to the Huffington Post. "In May, when Father Pfleger made those horrible remarks about Senator Clinton at Trinity United, Senator Obama didn't do much to defend her and John McCain was the first to rush to her defense."

Simultaneously, Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton released a statement saying:

"As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn't want his daughters or any children exposed to. This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics."

ok, here is my whole beef with this... Why is Ludacris becoming the poster child for offensive words. Can I see 500 plus comment blogs on the words of Ted Nugent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYmFAwhmqaU, where are the 500 plus comment blogs on Liz Trotter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ygOXkuz7tk? For some reason it seems like a white person has the freedom of speech to say anything they feel and chose, but a black person must watch what they say. Ludacris never called for any person death or spoke of doing bodily harm. I guess he did not realize that he is still 3/5ths of a person, maybe that is the issue, his freedom of speech is not whole, therefore not equal. This is true with some much that has happened in this election. Mr. Wright is blasted, but Pat Robertson, Jerry Farewell and Hagee gets free passes from the media. Youtube some of the things these white pastors of said, and compare it to Mr. Wrights.

Obama has definitely help to bridge the gap between racial groups, but his run for presidency has also showed us just how racist/bias our country really is.

Here is my question... Why does Ludacris have to become the staple for this topic. Where are the blogs about Ted Ted Nugent? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYmFAwhmqaU, It seems like in this country it is totally ok for a white person to say anything. Ted Nugent said some evil and nasty things about Hilliary and Obama and was defended for his comments, Liz trotter called for Obama's death... Where is the outrage? Ludacris uses the B word and says McCain should be in a wheel chair and we are up in arms. Can I see Ted Nugent getting blasted by major news networks? One thing you can attribute to Obama is that he has shown a lot of people just how racist this country is. Obama 08, it is definitely time for change.

Now his old friend Ludacris is "not the person he thought he knew." Just like Reverend Wright?

Obama is either naive when it comes to judging character, or he is a liar. This pattern of distancing himself from his old friends indicates to me that he is a liar.

Again and again, we see this pattern with Senator Obama- having his surrogates take cheap shots at Hillary Clinton and then play the race card effectively. I agree with Yashar Hedayat. that Obama by his silence then at Father Pleger gave tacit approval to those insults at Hillary.
Guess what- 18 + million of us who voted for Hillary will not forget these Obama tactics come November. We will have the last word on the election- not the Berliners or Parisians !

Seriously?

Referenced from webchannel24[dot].com:

"This comical threat of punching Jesse Jackson in the head or gut was part of a very short smattering of lyrics in rapper Ludacris' song "Obama Is Coming". However, in his Wednesday coverage on The O'Reilly Factor, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly apparently missed the lines, edited it out of the presentation to his viewers of the song, and never mentioned it on his television or radio show.

In contacting The Radio Factor Thursday, WebChannel24.com was told that "Bill has a transcript of it. I don't know why he didn't include it but I'll ask" from the show's screener."

I loved the song...lyrics and all. It's TRUTH as many people see it.

You are a very sick person, and people like you are why I cannot support such a candidacy fueled by hate and rage.

"Ludacris is a talented individual". Did he actually listen to this "song"?

have you listen to any of his other?
09:39 AM on 08/01/2008
Ludacris is a joke, and certainly has no talent and not much intelligence either for that matter.
12:40 PM on 07/31/2008
Does anybody wonder why black men - Ridiculous, Rev. Wright, Jesse, Uncle Al - are all so determined to sink Obama?

The ability of these people to make a living on racial hatred and divide will be seriously compromised if Obama is elected.

...and if u can generate some press and boost CD sales while maintaining your street cred...its all good? right ? wrong! Surely the press will see this for the shameless self-promotion that it is. Ludacris wants the attention that Wright and the others got - constant rotation on Fox CNN discussion on the View and the Sunday talk shows - u can't buy this kind of publicity.

Of course, Bill O'Reilly is ALL over the Ludacris song. I'm sure he & Faux Noise will try to exploit this and play that song over and over as they did Rev. Wright.
12:19 PM on 07/31/2008
I don't understand why Ludacris, Jesse Jackson or anyone else of any color that seem to support Obama yet somehow find a way to lend themselves to disparaging Obama or put Obama in a position to denounce remarks or ....I mean...WTF.
Can't people that support their candidate say something that supports their candidate? This Ludicris thing is so dumb,

The McCain camp should personally thank Ludacris for scaring away and turning off far more voters than any of his attack ads. And McCain didn't have to spend any money. And what does Obama do---condemns the lyrics and calls Ludacris talented. Pure double-talk.
11:24 AM on 07/31/2008
I wish Obama and his supporters spent 1/10 the time denouncing attacks on him by the press and McCaininites. I'm frankly sick of his denunciations of black folks who speak the truth about racism, oppression, lies and corruption.
11:58 AM on 07/31/2008
Ludacris doesn't speak any truth about racism, etc. He speaks nonsense. His music is degrading to women, especially African American women, and I am glad Senator Obama spoke out against him.

.... "paint the White House Black... John McCain paralized in a wheelchair". Wow, just wow. I was hoping this kind of talk ended with don imus.

It is always double standard..Though i do think Obama did well denounce Ludacris words , i still don't understand why Mr MC CAIN didn't also denounce one of his female supporter who called Sen. CLINTON "B...ch"?
just asking!!!!
