Edwards' "Love Child" Has No Father Listed On Birth Certificate

The birth certificate of a child who a tabloid newspaper claims is linked to former Sen. John Edwards doesn't identify a father.

The certificate, obtained by McClatchy today, shows Frances Quinn Hunter was born Feb. 27, more than two months after an Edwards aide claimed to be the father. Andrew Young, a former Edwards campaign finance director, claimed paternity in a statement from his lawyer posted at the political blog mydd.com.

That's enough for me. Really conclusive evidence would be DNA tests but they can't be forced on anyone.

Now the fact that even the right wing is not tracking and exploding this story is further proof that it has no corroboration.

O'Reilly and Hannity must now report on what they know about Pat Robertson's exploits. Fox News needs to report on Pat and Gordon Robertson's extramarital affairs now and how they continued telling others to confess and repent.

O'Reilly and Hannity will be the hypocrites if they do not report on SINS in a fair and balanced way. They call this site hateful. Ann Coulter is vile. She is the worse of the scandalmongers and they love her.

Fox News will have to lift their "media blackout" on the whole Robertson father/son holyman scandal now.

Mom says Andrew Young is the father. Andrew Young agrees that he is the father. They both worked for Edwards. What reason is there to doubt either the mom or the admitted dad? Why is this a story at all? What evidence is there that this is Edwards' "love child"? What irresponsible pseudo-journalist would push this as a story?

There's nothing wrong with the CHILD.

But something 's very wrong about a guy who asks his married close friends, the Youngs, to take
responsibility for his misconduct to protect him/his political career, regardless of the effect on their own marriage and gossip/rumor/accusations that their own CHILDREN will have to deal with - with a seasoned courtroom lawyer and national candidate who physically runs and hides in a restroom stall for 15 minutes to avoid questions about the relationship - with a man who even after his own wife presumably knows about the situation, and he has presumably expressed
remorse, still finds it appropriate to skulk around visiting his mistress in a hotel late at night on the other side of the country from his wife and kids.

I said a few days ago that the deluge was about to it. Here comes the first drop of rain -- not because the evidence is conclusive. It's not; it's just another suspicious report.

The reason this story is significant is that it's McClatchy covering it. That means they are investigating. And it means that mainstream media outlets will be able to quote someone other than the National Enquirer.
