New McCain Ad Stars Obama And Moses

John McCain debuted another stinging attack video targeting Barack Obama Friday, this time mocking his White House foe as "The One" -- a quasi-religious figure who "anointed" himself to lead the world.

"Can you see the light?" the hard-hitting negative ad asks, following up on Republican McCain's new campaign theme that the Illinois Democrat is arrogant, transfixed by his own celebrity and not yet ready to lead.

The Obama campaign has issued a response. Read it from Ben Smith:

Barack Obama's campaign responded sharply to a new McCain webad depicting Obama as a parody of a biblical prophet.

"It's downright sad that on a day when we learned that 51,000 Americans lost their jobs, a candidate for the presidency is spending all of his time and the powerful platform he has on these sorts of juvenile antics," said spokesman Hari Sevugan. "Senator McCain can keep telling everyone how 'proud' he is of these political stunts which even his Republican friends and advisors have called 'childish', but Barack Obama will continue talking about his plan to jumpstart our economy by giving working families $1,000 of immediate relief."

Now, I could be wrong, but follow me on this... McCain releases an article that essentially boils down to Obama == Paris Hilton, and now releases one essentially saying Obama == Moses... now, my philosophy logic courses have taught me if A = B, and B = C, then A = C... so Moses == Paris Hilton?

That doesn't seem like a great way to appeal to his religious right base to me!

I've started to hear it from the mouths of the right wingers now too.

According to them Obama is the Antichrist.

Which confuses me if he is because according to the Bible the Antichrist will be loved by all. Obama is no where close to being loved by all, but hey like I've said time and time again about right wing "Christians" they believe what they are told the Bible say instead of reading it for them selves.

Now if Obama isn't "ready" point it out by showing what he has done that makes him seem that way or what he has failed to do. I don't see that happening because when you take a good look at what McCain has and has not done he is just as unready if not less ready for the job. Rove politics equate to distraction from the facts. They have reverted to this because they have nothing all they can do is tear down the other guy they fear actually telling what they are about because they are about keeping things the same and continuing down the path their prophet Bush has lead them.

So, if you use the same logic that some evangelicals use for supporting Israel no matter what -- i.e., that Israel must take control of all of Palestine and rebuild on the Temple Mount so that Christ can return -- it would seem that they would be chomping at the bit to vote FOR Obama if he is indeed the Antichrist, so that biblical prophecy will be fulfilled.

I think we need an ad playing the interview with Bush when he said that God talked to him and told him to invade Iraq and spread democracy. Then in block letters there should be the question, "Senator McCain, where were you then? Did you speak out against this mesianic man?" I don't know who's making these ads, but they must kinda like Obama, working from the inside to bring McCain down.The first showed Obama addressing a crowd of 200,000 and asked if Obama was ready to lead - the answer looks like "yes",from where I'm sitting.
Now,this one comparing Obama to Moses - who ACTUALLY DID lead people out of a dire situation-trying to make the same point.
Who's next...Keanu Reeves as "Neo"? Jesus himself? He's running out of "examples". He wouldn't dare use Jim Jones,who would be more appropriate (according to the way they're trying to smear Obama)...at least I don't THINK...
It was the media that started this mess when they saw how supportive people were of Obama. I guess they were shocked that a politician could be liked so much today - or maybe they were so used to mumbly-jumbly Bush being internationally reviled,that to hear Obama speak and see his supporters turn out in droves must have seemed like a miracle.

Obama has proven himself to be a leader already, throughout his entire adult life.
Evidenced by the large number of small donations.
This is why he is, where he is, at the age he is, now.
The Repugs and Rove would like desperately to REFRAME this situation.
Because as things are going, McCain is proving his utter inability to lead the masses into giving him much in the way of campaign contributions, his major contributers are generally large vested intrests.

As much as the Supreme court would like to give Corporations the freedom of speech, they have not as of yet given them the right to walk into a voting booth. Here lies the rub.

So in the typical Rovian style they go after Obama's strongest point, and attempt to REFRAME the situation by calling leadership, celebrity.

But as far as I can tell, NOBODY (outside of perhaps a few pre-pubescent girls) have pledged to vote for Brittany, Paris et al for President, and EVEN IF they were out there running for president they STILL wouldn't get any more votes than Mickey Mouse.

WHY? because everybody knows they are merely celebrities.

So this comparing apples to oranges slight of hand is pretty easy to dispel, and just ends up looking what it is DESPERATE because they have nothing else.
