The Wall Street Journal's Amy Chozick warns Barack Obama of another potentially elitist personal trait -- he's too thin:

Speaking to donors at a San Diego fund-raiser last month, Barack Obama reassured the crowd that he wouldn't give in to Republican tactics to throw his candidacy off track.

"Listen, I'm skinny but I'm tough," Sen. Obama said.

But in a nation in which 66% of the voting-age population is overweight and 32% is obese, could Sen. Obama's skinniness be a liability? Despite his visits to waffle houses, ice-cream parlors and greasy-spoon diners around the country, his slim physique just might have some Americans wondering whether he is truly like them.

The candidate has been criticized by opponents for appearing elitist or out of touch with average Americans. A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll conducted in July shows Sen. Obama still lags behind Republican John McCain among white men and suburban women who say they can't relate to his background or perceived values.

I think it is his ears.

In order to get a real authentic poll we should factor in the demographics of people who only have a cat, (or dog) eat pizza or mexican, read the newspapers or don't and then find an obscure third factor to throw into the mix and then call it a random sampling of registered voters feed by a bought list of only six figure white (or black) voters from New York or California. Then we will have a radom poll of registered voters without any commonalities.

""There's no fat on a Thoroughbred""

That's what is scaring them..... he has got effortless, inbred CLASS.
You cannot,no matter how much money you spend trying, buy class. You either have it or you don't.
Bush, McCain, Clinton, ......rich but no class.

""He's built for speed"" and he is going to leave them way behind.

That kid the other day who told McCain "I'm 18 and he terrifies me!" hit the nail on the head, just not in the way he meant it. I wonder if he'll show up at all of the Senator's "town hall meetings" and ask the same thing.

I like the idea of having a professor of constitutional law as president, and wish the media would mention that a little more often.

Why does the media find ways to try and label as not capable of being President? They find anything, any issue to try and label him as anything presidential?

Why can't they state the obvious? Like what makes O'bama capable of being president?

These questions that the media asks are ridiculous and too out of touch. People wants to know why his capable of being president. That would be the more obvious question. But yet the media wants to paint him anything but being presidential. Are they just following the same ole' partisan talking points or do they want to really report what the people want to hear?

Unfortunately, this is the sort of thing most of the MSM will discuss ad nauseum. That is why the Mcain Celeb ad was played over and over agai -- fluff, fluff, fluff..

Yeah! Let's reelect Taft! The fattest president we ever had.

I think what might be pissing them off is O is a rather virile. Where as Mac is death warmed up. There is nothing Mac can do to compete with the physical shape O is in right now. Except have people say that O is too skinny. Note to writer the words you could have used are lithe or sleek or svelte.

Virility gets at the meat of White prejudice against Black men. Let's hope that stays buried.

The Wall Street Journal has become too thin to be a newspaper.

Oh, yeah. There's much less news in the newspaper than years ago. There's much less original and investigative business reporting than five and ten years ago. There are more press releases, sometimes printed up without even reviewing them for typo's. And more general reporting that's more fluff than analysis, like this article about Obama.

If this article actually ran in the Wall Street Journal, it's time they closed up the shop. It's the all time stupidest thing about Obama I've ever read.
