LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan said Friday that police have no business getting involved in her personal life, a day after the police chief explained that the paparazzi were no longer an issue _ in part because the 22-year-old actress had evidently "gone gay."

"Police chief shouldn't get involved in everyone else's business when it comes to their personal life. It's inappropriate," Lohan said in a video shot by paparazzi Friday and posted on TMZ.com. In the footage, Lohan and gal pal Samantha Ronson are trekking through the Los Angeles Airport on their way to catch a flight to Chicago.

The day before, Chief William Bratton said the paparazzi have become less of a problem thanks to Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Lohan leading more moderate lifestyles.

"If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue," he told KNBC-TV.

Bratton was speaking about his refusal to participate in a meeting held by elected officials Thursday that was called to discuss new laws to curb problem paparazzi.

He called Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine's special session _ which was attended by the likes of John Mayer, Eric Roberts and Milo Ventimiglia _ "a complete waste of time."

Bratton later called a news conference outside police headquarters to clarify his position on the paparazzi. When asked about the Lohan remark _ which followed months of tabloid speculation that Lohan and Ronson, a DJ, are dating _ Bratton said his sister is gay and he is a proponent of gay rights.

Poor kid! She looks SOO old. Get off the drugs and booze, also, do yourself a favor and never, ever go into another tanning salon. You look like a 35 yr old Ann Margret.

With a police chief like Bratton no wonder Los Angeles is a crime haven.
What is he gonna say next?
"Car thieves are not the problem, the expensive cars owners are"
"The gun violence is a problem because people are coming out of their homes too often"

She is the expert on responsible behavior.

What would the L.A.P.D. be without a chief out there making asinine statements to the media?

There's a tradition to uphold, after all!

You know - I pride myself on NOT knowing what's going on in Celebwood but I saw the police chiefs comments and from a purely logical sense I don't think it was too smart to say such things about the people who run his city - lol...at any rate I bet he's getting it from all sides now!

I think Lohan should speak out and the others as well - celeb's or not - we "ALL" have rights!

I'm no celebrity fan but these Lohan/Brittany remarks were about as low as a public official could make.
One of a typical low class bully not a chief of one of the largest police force in the world. Some apologies are warranted!!

I don't normally comment on this stuff...but wow. She's still only 22? She freaking looks 35. She looks like she's in her mid-30s.

Still, their police chief is an unprofessional idiot. You don't talk celebs on the news even if you're working Hollywood unless you want to get noticed. That kind of stuff just reflects badly on his entire department. The real thing is that the paparazzi are too busy chasing down people connected to the two Presidential contenders and some of the VP candidates to care about burned out and used up celebrities. When it's an election year, that's where the interest is.

If you think Lindsay looks old, take a look at the Olsen twins - wasted before their time. At least Lindsay looks healthy.

No Lindsay, the police dont care about your business. I live in Los Angeles and they dont want to put resources to trivial papparazzi chases. Hire your own security. Sue the paparazzi, get restraining orders or private investigators. That is the point of Bratton's comments. He doesnt care what the hell you are doing unless you decide to get behind a wheel while drinking and hit other people's car. I am so tired of the "entiltlement" mindset coming from Hollywood. They are the last to give advice on behavior.

I agree. Along with the clothes wearing by Britney and "going gay" by Lohan, they have stopped drinking and driving and causing a ruckus all over town. Britney, Lindsay and Paris were causing problems, and now they aren't. That's just a FACT. You behave and don't cause a problem, and things are quieter. Why doesn't she apologize for causing all the problems and ruckus and do more than just live a quiet life? She's Lindsay effing Lohan- she could work for the good for any one of a number of charitable organizations and use her celebrity for good.

It's not just about the celebs though -- those papparazzi are (in some cases) endangering the PUBLICS SAFETY - which is the Chiefs SOLE job Responsibility - protect the public....

I am very very tired of Lindsay / Samantha circus. The media is responsible for flaunting their relationship in our face every time I open up my daily newspaper. I am sick of it. It is already so depressing to watch the GOP try to derail Obama's campaign by using hollywood diversionary tactics and making mileage out of it to boot.
The country is falling apart from an economy in the ruins, body bags of our young coming home from an illconceived war, fear and an uncertain future not knowing when the next attack will happen, which incidentally can come from within our shores. If the McCain campaign had any sense they would have used Britney/Paris to reach those dissolutioned by all this debacle instead of a tool to undermine Obama.
McCain like Lindsay/Samantha will soon be history..

The cop did what some cops do, and try to do commentary which he whiffed at. Then LL feels the need to respond instead of letting her PR person or agent do the talking. Seems like they have something in common.

What is it with republican men and women?
John McCain let his misogyny show last week with is - Paris, Brittany ad, and Bratton making mean spirited comments about Paris, Brittany and Lindsay.
Republican politicians like to treat women as sport and make them the butt of jokes.
McCain is supposed to be so mature but he approves ads that are juvenile and portray women in a misogynistic manner.
Bratton's comments are just typical of the way republicans trash women.
McCain loves to tell ribald jokes about women being raped by gorillas, nasty jokes about Chelsea Clinton and Hillary Clinton.
McCain also does not find any problem with calling his wife a c&*t and trollope in public and has no problem with throwing his adopted brown skinned daughter under the bus in his efforts to court agents of intolerance.
The very same agents of intolerance who like McCain do not feel that women should have birth control pills covered by insurance but Viagra should be covered by insurance for men.
These republicans are full of crap with their so called moral values and the way they treat women.

that ad was funny though..........Paris, Brittany and Lindsay made themselves a joke by their public antics........what a company chooses to have covered or not by their insurance company is their choice

your comment indicates that you miss the point...that ad was not meant to hurt paris, brittany or lindsay who might make jokes of themselves...it was meant to hurt obama who does not make a joke of himself. the comparison was unfair and desperate. do not underestimate the nature of such an attack...the metaphor mixing is intentional.

Brit and Paris also vote Republican.

Seems like McCain forgot to get elected president you have to play a popularity game or has he instead of coming up with asinine aid why not talk about real issues and his plans to take them on.

Not all experience is good experience, and to say you have more experience means very little when you take that into consideration.

McCain"s aids are far from funny and are more sad, and desperate as each new aid is aired.

These aids are the only ones allowed to speak for him as his staff has stated McCain does not speak for the McCain campaign.

Lindsey,

Wait a minute - I guess that's never going to happen.

Oh, my! The paparazzis will stop taking pictures of LL because she is outed as gay? Don't think so, the opposite seems more likely. That equals an increased need for police protection, and not the other way around - unless one of course means that gay people are less worth/have lesser rights for protection than others. Shockingly prejudiced.

I didn't know she's gay now. Why wasn't I told this? My wife will have a thing or two to hear from me. Suppose I wasn't listening? I'd better just shut up until this blows over.
