McCain Mocked Idea Of Obama On Dollar In June

The Jed Report:

Andrew Sullivan, Chris Bodenner, and Eli Sanders all note that the McCain campaign's strategy on race is to (a) play the race card and then (b) accuse Obama of having played the race card.

The issue here, of course, is that John McCain claimed great umbrage at Barack Obama's lighthearted comment that Bush and McCain would emphasize that "he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

But if John McCain thinks that comment was playing the race card, then why did he play it first? One month ago -- in late June -- a McCain ad superimposed Obama's visage on a one hundred dollar bill as part of an effort to mock his supposed 'presumptuousness.'

they are very different things. mccain mocks obama's changing everything to reflect him; mt rushmore, statue of liberty and the $100 bill. obama speaks to "looking" different than all the other presidents. he played the race card by slight of hand.

Obviously mocking his "presumptiousness" to wanting to be like them.

I've been posting messages with a link to that ad on every thread I read, and anyone I know, all weekend.
I'm glad to see it slowly being picked up, but sadly, the damage is done. McC is playing the dirtiest of all campaigns. He doesn't care about anything that maybe false or racial, so long as he gets it out there. The MSM of course oblige him, and by the time the real facts come out, which the MSM picks up veeery slowly, half America is already believing what they heard in those ads.
This is becoming very sad. Obama camp, really need to drop that 'holier than thou ' approach, it ain't gonna work against a devil like McC.
