Obama Wants Full Voting Right For Florida And Michigan Delegates

It seems like another lifetime ago, but remember all the fuss about Michigan and Florida?

After those states held their primaries in violation of Democratic Party rules, the party cracked down on them and said their delegates would not have a voice at the national convention in Denver. Then in May, the rules committee agreed to let their delegates have half a vote each.

Now Senator Barack Obama, the party's presumptive nominee, has asked the credentials committee to let the two states have full voting rights at the convention after all.

The request is likely to be granted since it comes from the all-but-certain nominee, who now controls the party apparatus.

O kept his cool throughout the primary and let hrc do nothing but exhale a lot of excessive CO2. His timing is perfect. Not ony has O clinched the nomination, but these two IMPORTANT states receive ALL of their delegates. This should work in O's favor. You don't see the gruy camp asking about this do you?

Only delegates count because they are so easy to buy. Young militants can be hired to disrupt the Caucuses in Red States and secure delegates and superdelegates can be bought with campaign contributions. Only the young and immature adults can be convinced that anything about the Democratic Primary is fair. It's called "organization" and the Obama campaign became experts at it. Too bad his presumptive nomination is bogus.

The problem with this is not that O is doing it -- it is that the uneducated electorate are going to start screaming at O for doing it, calling him a flip-flopper or disingenuous, even though their screaming is unjustified.

1. Florida and Michigan broke the rules. Period! O had nothing to do with that. So be quiet about that.
2. O would have won the nomination had full votes been given to Michigan and Florida anyway. Period! So be quiet about that.
3. O would have won the nomination had there been a re-vote in Florida and Michigan. Period! HC was not going to get more than 60% of the vote in each state. So be quiet about that.

The *best* that would have happened is that HC wins the popular vote (partly because of the way caucuses work). And as you know if you win the popular vote, doesn't mean you win the nomination (err…turn back to 2000).

This is purely a gesture by O to have all states have all votes — he said he would do this if he was the nominee, and that was back in February.

So everyone get over themselves, do a little research, stop trolling and become an educated electorate. Please!

according to the article, the two states will more than likely recive their full votes. everybody should be happy in FL and MI. Smart move on O's part. Clinch the nomination first, then petition for full voting rights! HRC will scream when she learns about this!
