Nicole Caldwell, Playgirl's editor-in-chief, just emailed confirmation that the magazine is indeed shuttering its print operation.

"Playgirl is going all-Web. The last print issue will be the Jan/Feb 2009 magazine, which comes out Nov. 18," Caldwell writes.

Geez, I didn't know anyone in the '70s who were interested in that POS. Amazed that it outlasted that decade. It was really for guys anyway.

Oh darn. Now I can't masturbate furiously will flipping through pages of men wearing nothing but hard hats and tool belts.

Sigh.

I thought Playgirl was read mainly by gays until I saw the walls of a few girls college dorms in the early 80's.

How Sad, Married Republican Congressmen will no longer have anything to read in their bathrooms.

No worries, they'll just look at the Web version: more mobile, no paper evidence, and no awkward paper rustling from a bathroom stall.... :-)

Another ink on paper publicaton has been killed by the glut of amateur models on the net. The amateurs are poised, daring & reek of glamor.

I thought the porn market was thriving. Guess the internet has it all these days. Oh well!

Don't worry Eric...the only individuals who will miss it in print will be the opposite sex married guys on the DL. These were the guys who bought PLAYBOY for the beard thing....and felt that his wife should enjoy the other mag despite her protests to the contrary.

OUT gay guys have their own mags providing hotties in all stages of arousal.

Did anyone REALLY want to look at Burt Reynold's junk?

Anybody?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:02 PM on 08/04/2008

back then he was the most popular male star in movies. EVERYONE wanted to see his junk.

Burt never posed for Playgirl. I think that is just an interview. He did pose for Cosmopolitan, but showed no junk.

Yes! Back in the day, Burt was quite a piece. Look at some of his work in the 60's and early 70's. The man was a major hunkola.

I clicked on the link in hopes of learning how long it was (will be) in print - that is, when did it start? Just curious. But the article was exceptionally light on any details whatsoever. So I tried that pages links and got nothing more than that they were considering shuttering the print version as early as 2001...
