I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Hillary Clinton has made her way into a Republican Party attack ad, her words condemning Barack Obama taken entirely out of context to suggest that she was somehow criticizing his energy plan.

The Ohio GOP has a new web ad out, a minute and a half in length, that regurgitates the argument that the Illinois Democrat has no policy prescription for gas prices other than encouraging voters to inflate their tires. The only thing notable about the spot (which touts such specific John McCain proposals as "address climate change" and "promote energy efficiency") is that it pits the former first lady against the primary opponent she now endorses.

"Shame on you, Barack Obama," Clinton is shown saying -- a now famous clip from when she ripped the Illinois Democrat for sending out attack mailers on her position on NAFTA and health care. The Buckeye state's popular governor, Ted Strickland nods his head in the background.

So is H'illary now going to sue the GOP for using her image without her permission?
Something tells me that she will NOT.

Something tells me she cannot!! Idiot. It's in the public domain!! She couldn't stop it if she wanted to. The sleasiness is all republican. Geez, for some people you just can't be correct enough, or right enough.

If I were a Republican with the traditional aversion to anything C linton, I don't know how persuaded I would be by this commercial. I think people who talk about her backing O are right. She needs to show unqualified support, or her own reputation is damaged. Maybe this ad is talking to PUMA voters. But as far as having broad appeal to Mc Cain supporters—I doubt it.

it seems to me that after Barack picks his VP, McCain will choose Hillary as his. She has NO allegiance to the Democratic party.

Mark my words.

I will not blame the Clintons if Obama loses the election.

I will laugh until I collapse, however, when Hillary runs for the senate again and loses. I will perhaps need EMTs when she announces her next bid for the presidency and is escorted from the podium. I will be deliriously happy when she and her husband fade into obscurity - just what they both deserve.

Why?

Because their egos are so huge, their sense of entitlement so great, they simply could not accept the loss in the primary. Because they chose not to be team players. Because they could not see the forest for the trees.

But blame them for his loss if it happens? No. I may blame some of her whining supporters who chose to stay home rather than vote for the nominee, but not the Clintons themselves.

Clearly this is the main reason why Obama cannot choose Hillary for VP. The so called dream ticket would provide a feast for repubs to chew-up and spit back out at us. Okay, this is not news...we knew it was coming. Hill and Bill are up the democratic creek with very little paddle, the bridge is not entirely burnt but it sure is smoldering. Ouch!

Don't just blame Hillary. I don't see any democrats on TV taken up for Obama. Instead of talking about Hillary, we should be condemming all the dems for letting Obama being out there on the limb by himself.

Very sweet! When he wins, it WILL be because of the grass roots. It will change the nature of politics—at least for a while. Maybe long enough to get some public-friendly legislation passed. Like health care.

Beyond wanting Obama to win, because he has given us HOPE as Americans that WE CAN unite (as in UNITED STATES!), I SO want him to win, so that ALL OF US who vote for him can gloat about once, JUST ONCE, being united enough to overcome the racist, the stupid, the greedy, the Toby Keiths, the Dana Milbanks, ALL of those who push FEAR, rather than HOPE.

Please VOTE THIS NOVEMBER. Please encourage everyone you know to vote. Talk is cheap, it takes real effort to go and make your voice heard.

The means create the end. Obama uses hating whitey and hating the Clintons as a means to win the Presidency - to try to get the most power and money.

O does need to be ashamed as his supporters do as well. Be ashamed for thinking you can win this way - that it is ok to try to win this way. If O had waited - he could have been VP for Hillary. If all of you O supporters had waited - you could have been proud of Hillary and Bill - and Obama. But you could not wait to hate.

May I remind people that Bill Clinton DID NOT work one day in Washington before he became president. Bill Clinton only worked at the state level of Arkhansaw, as a governor. Bill Clinton knew nothing at all about how Washington worked before he became president. Bill Clinton had NOT worked one day outside of the State of Arkansaw before he became president ---- OBAMA on the other hand has worked at BOTH the state level of government, and at the Federal level of government. Obama worked as a State Senator in Illinois for 8 years. And Obama has also worked as a U.S Senator in Washington, for 5 years. THE FACT IS: Obama actually knows how the government works at both levels of government, which is a big asset!!!! Because Obama has worked at the State level of government, and he has also worked at the Federal level of government Obama actually knows first hand how the decisions made in Washington directly affects people at the state level as well. ----- Add to all this, Obama also knows the U.S Constitution, he is a lawyer, as well as a teacher who taught Constitutional law at the University of Chicago for 10 year.

To compare Bill Clinton or Hillary with Obama in terms of experience is laughable. Bill was governor for goodness sakes and head of the Governors Association. Hillary lived in the White House and experienced the stress of power. They have both handed money and power. Obama has never demonstrated his ability to handle money and power. Obama is a kid in comparison. He needs to grow up.

All of the same could be said of George and Laura Bush. Will you be voting for either one of them any time soon? There has never been a more "experienced" administration than that of the GW Bush administration, so I think that the experience-trumps-all argument has been soundly defeated.

Experience isn't really the point. Vision and mission are the point. What are the intention? With W, we got a whole lot of smoke and mirrors about what he wanted to do with the presidency. If the press had done its job—sorry to keep repeating this, but it's true—voters would have known who this man was. With O, the scrutiny is so excruciating and hostile, we pretty much know the good and not so good about this guy. I believe his intentions are to solve problems. That's more important to me than decades of experience. He'll have experienced people all around him. And I trust that he'll make good choices. No "heckuva job Brownie" from this guy.

The Republicans have latched on to the "Not ready to lead" reference to Obama. Obama needs to find something that says what McCain is all about and use it over and over.

- John McCain - not the man he used to be; john McCain - leadership we can't afford.

Obama's camp needs to kick things up a notch or they're gonna mop the floor with him.

The Ohio Republican Party is smart to do this. John McCain is asking for their votes and Obama is telling them to "get over it".

Hillary and Bill Clinton are not the enemy -- but even after Hillary has asked her supporters to back Obama and contribute to his campaign --- Obama supporters still see her as the enemy. I dont get it. You won. Be happy. Be gracious. Move on and win.

Hillary will not be forgiven if Barack loses in November. She did cause harm during her campaign. Her political career is on the line. 2012 not a chance. Plus the country can't survive 4 more years. McCain could be the final nail in the coffin. If McCain is elected then in 2012 we'll be at war. We thought Iraq was bad, we thought 9/11 was bad. Unemployment, inflation, energy crisis, healthcare crisis, and war. Ordinary people will be at the mercy of a dictatorial government. Pretty scary stuff. Too often movies have predicted our future.

I agree. If HIllary isn't seen as totally backing Obama, she will be done.
Every time Bill opens his mouth he creates MORE problems for his WIFE!
He acts like a spoiled kid, that can't take losing, instead of taking pride in the process he was part of. He self destructed...and he can't blame anyone else for that.

Yeah, we see Mc is controlled by the far rightwingers ... and easily controlled at that!! Which means more of the military industrial complex at work ... they get richer at the expense of America's young & another soverign nation's masses!!

Mc brings nothing visionary for America's overall healing. So, what's available at the bottom of the bucket is viable ... that includes Hill. O has been amazingly steady against ALL ODDS ... and, if we all get to the polls and vote in Nov., that will do what we've all worked so very hard to do ... take back our country and make it work properly!!

The night before Election Day in his first campaign, Tip O'Neill's across-the-street neighbor, the high-school elocution teacher, Mrs. O'Brien, told the Tip, "Tom, I'm going to vote for you tomorrow even though you didn't ask me to." The young O' Neill protested: "Mrs. O'Brien, I cut your grass in the summer. I shovel your walk in the winter. I didn't think I had to ask you."

Mrs. O'Brien gave young Tip a piece of advice he would repeat several thousand times to his fellow Democrats everywhere: "Tom," she said, "let me tell you something: People like to be asked."

Telling people to "get over it" is not a good way to get votes - politicians work for us - we expect them to ask for our support. Hillary has asked us to support Obama and that is a good enough reason for me - but Obama has to do more to reach out to these Hillary supporters who feel disrespected now.

Here we go again..how long does Obama have to appease the losers and the losers supporters..how long? Shouldn't he be campaigning trying to beat McCain? No because Hill, Bill and their supporters are still saying..."has to do more" for us"..not the Democratic Party but "us". What else can the man do? The people that supported Hillary and now want Obama to soothe their hurt feelings should just go ahead and vote for McCain because it's obvious that nothing Obama can do will satisfy them. He shouldn't waste any more time on this as it's becoming ridculous!!

I believe Hill & Bill know exactly what they've done and what that has the potential to do ... that's why they shy away!! I believe that they are actually ashamed! Most think they are ired and just don't want to assist O ... I think they're humiliated by their own dirty deeds and would rather stay out of daylight for awhile ... a long while! But, it is and has been their chosen political party ... they should have thought more reasoned about that!!

glady's46 I agree that Hill & Bill know exactly what they have done but I don't think either one of them is hiding out in shame.I saw no shame in either of them throughout the campaign ,they both acted very crass and shameless. What they may be thinking about though is whether their dirty trick to help McCain get elected to further her chances of a run in 2012 may have backfired when they angered so many people with their tactic's .Hill may be worried that her days as a NY Senator might be numbered when nobody in her party will want to support her for another term after what she did to divide the party.

Personally after the report I just read on the low numbers of registered Republican's with many of them changing their party affiliation for the General election especially in two ket states Iowa and Nevada and the large numbers of registered Democrats in those states and all over actually minus a few hold out Republican states Obama actually stands a great chance of winning even with all the Hillary /Republican PUMA's I will not vote shouts or I am voting Republican to the world !
More people are smart enough to know what kind of President McCain would make and they don't ever want to see anothe George Bush in the White House again.
