Barack Obama goes on the attack with a new ad tying John McCain to big oil:

The ad is timed to coincide with the announcement of his New Energy for America Plan, which would give middle class families a $1,000 rebate funded by a windfall profits tax on oil companies.

Transcript:

Anncr VO: Every time you fill your tank, the oil companies fill their pockets.

Now Big Oil's filling John McCain's campaign with 2 million dollars in contributions.

Because instead of taxing their windfall profits to help drivers, McCain wants to give them another 4 billion in tax breaks.

After one president in the pocket of big oil... We can't afford another.

Barack Obama... A windfall profits tax on big oil to give families a thousand dollar rebate.

A president who'll stand up for you.

Barack VO: I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message.

Obama's Solution to gas prices is to raise taxes? That seems to be his solution to everything.

Don't pay attention much, do you? That's OK though, you don't let the facts get in the way either.

Obama's got to come up with some better ads. Maybe transpose pictures of McCain with shots of Zha Zha Gabor and Angie Dickenson...

Good ad. It may not even be noticed, however, with all of the coverage of McCain's "Obama: The One"
ad. Voters
While we're considering windfall profits taxes, hiow about a tax on the billions of dollars in profits raked in by the defense contractors?

Good ad Obama people! -- But you should have also used it to launch an Apollo project for clean energy, not just a tax rebate!

Great FACTUAL and NON-frivolous ad. The repugs can't win on their own merits, they have to lie, deceive, spin and concoct extravagant stories to win anything.

mc?you had 26 years to work on these problems.if you have done nothing,by now,you wont do anything now.you are the problem.politicians who have been in office for decades are at fault, and mccain is one of those multiple term republicans ,who do nothing but collect paychecks from the taxpayers, and campaign donations from big oil.

I think the public will be very interested in McBush getting this kind of money from big oil when he lies about having the publics' interests in mind.

Obama's New Energy for American speech is a must read! It is a call to arms. It ushers in the green industrial revolution of the 21st Century. Once again, we can become a producing nation, rather than merely a nation of consumers. Obama has meshed national security, energy, and jobs into one comprehensive plan to move the nation. Obama delineated very serious policies, not sound bites, for addressing the long-term and short-term issues that are having such a dramatic effect on people who are working and trying to make ends meet. Obama offers our nation new ideas and enthusiastic leadership to solve the massive issues that faced our nation

0bama has been the only candidate with a serious energy policy. McBush offers gimmicks and vague plans that do not say how is going to pay for things like 40 nuclear power plants. Nuclear power plants are expensive that's why energy companies don't build them and McBush has not said he would put one dollar into building them when private energy will not. Like all of McBush's "plans" there are no details because they were hatched out of political convenience rather than a thoughtful process.

Good, while we are on the facts I'd also like an ad that shows the national debt under the B u s h administration.
