Barack Obama goes on the attack with a new ad tying John McCain to big oil:

The ad is timed to coincide with the announcement of his New Energy for America Plan, which would give middle class families a $1,000 rebate funded by a windfall profits tax on oil companies.

Anncr VO: Every time you fill your tank, the oil companies fill their pockets.

Now Big Oil's filling John McCain's campaign with 2 million dollars in contributions.

Because instead of taxing their windfall profits to help drivers, McCain wants to give them another 4 billion in tax breaks.

After one president in the pocket of big oil... We can't afford another.

Barack Obama... A windfall profits tax on big oil to give families a thousand dollar rebate.

Great ad and it's about time. If Obama is going to win this he can't be sitting there absorbing all the pop shots. He needs more ads like this - go on the offensive. The best defense in politics is offense. It's hard for your opponent to get an upper hand if he constantly has to defend himself against truthful and incriminating ads.

Watch the MSM/McCain Campaign spin this into a "negative attack ad." They're going to lump this in with the Moses ad and the Celeb ad to try and illustrate how "dirty" the race has gotten. Even though everything in the ad was true, Johnny Mac will be up there rambling about how Obama promised us a change from the same old negative campaigning but he turned out to be "just another politician­."

Questions for those who support Oil companies getting more land for offshore drilling?

Why would the oil companies who are currently making record profits with the tight supply of oil and high demand, want to increase the amount of oil in the market and in turn lower prices and profits?

Why do you think that between the month of June and July when McCain flipped on his support for offshore drilling, the oil companies and their employees rewarded him with 2,000,000 dollars in donations?
