Once again, we can become a producing nation, rather than merely a nation of consumers. Obama has meshed national security, energy, and jobs into one comprehensive plan to move the nation. Obama delineated very serious policies, not sound bites, for addressing the long-term and short-term issues that are having such a dramatic effect on people who are working and trying to make ends meet. Bravo Obama!!! Brilliantly innovative and 21st Century! O's response to possibly supporting the proposed bi-partisan "limited" drilling bill should be clear to all good thinking American people ... he said that he was not interested in "making the 'perfect' the enemy of the good" ... so profound! O wants to go forward as quickly as possible since precious time (7 + yrs) wasted stuck with a Cheney/Big Oil self-serving energy policy .. rather than progressive movement toward foreign oil withdrawals.

Lets get more specific, sell the 70 million barrels of light sweet at $55.00 per barrel to independent domestic refiners for domestic consumption only.
This will have an immediate affect on cutting crude in half within 2 weeks. When OPEC offers to increase production by only 500k-1million barrels per day the price drops by 10-20% WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT. That is a historical fact. So offering 70,000,000 barrels of the highest quality crude available that we already own and is only 10% of what is stored in the SPR will cause the price to tumble towards the offered price.
Those are simple logical economic facts even John McCain should be able to understand.
Hopefully the American people are smart enough to see the difference
