When it comes to tracking the lobbyists and companies who either work for or have contributed to John McCain's presidential campaign, now you can play the same game Beltway journalists engage in every day from the comfort of your own home!

McCainsLobbyists.com is the latest project from Campaign Money Watch, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. Still, they don't tend to take a positive view of the big corporate money that's fueling the presumptive Republican nominee's latest run for the White House.

"At John McCain's campaign, you can't spit without hitting a big money lobbyist who is raising money for or staffing his campaign. McCainsLobbyists.com shows just how much McCain is embedded in, and wedded to, the old web of corruption in Washington, DC," said David Donnelly, director of Campaign Money Watch.

Featuring 41 key players who are grouped in six categories -- such as "ethics," "corporate regulation" and "pocketbook" issues -- visitors to the site are invited to click through and see where the big money comes from, and for what purposes.

If you're a political junkie who follows the daily conference-call wars, some of your McCain campaign favorites are well-represented in the mix, like senior foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann -- whose clients have given $135,000 to McCain while padding his pockets to the tune of over $2 million. Adviser Charlie Black -- who courted controversy recently by suggesting a terrorist attack before the election would do his candidate wonders -- has earned over $30 million representing clients who have so far donated over $1.5 million to the Arizona Republican.

Not all those on the list have profited so handsomely, however. Robert Aiken's clients have given $169,450 to McCain, but Aiken himself has only made $15,000 from those same clients. In this universe, that almost counts as charity work.

Money from lobbyists may explain why Senator McCain has so few local events planned at the grassroots level. It's unfortunate he is selling his soul to the devil, selling out his true self ... can't imagine he thinks he can do this through the election and then IF he wins (God help us all) they will allow him to lead the country.

Yesterday, Andrea Mitchell (MSNBC) suggested Senator McCain's "handlers" are keeping him in the dark which may explain some of the ridiculous un-McCain-like advertising and his comment of "I'm proud of my campaign." Scary, scary stuff ... You wonder if he has seen the ads...

No wonder why he wants America to start drilling offshore now. Has any one ask Mcsame if he had done his homework on this issue first? What are the implications to the environment considering the lastest oil spill in Missisipi river?. And what about the damaged cause by Katrina on the offshore rig? Is any one out there asking Mcsame questions about these facts?. We have seen what could happen when we do offshore drill?

The question to McSame should be:

How much do we have to give you to get you to promote wind, solar, free health care, peace and diplomacy?

That site is fun. I spent about an hour there just clicking the pictures. You get the whole picture of the CORPORATE MAFIA, plumping McCain so he can feed them the access.

The thing that becomes apparent is... the lobbyists don't belong to McCain. McCain belongs to them. Fritz Hollings explained it well on Bill Moyers journal a couple of weeks back:

Alright everyone - here's what do.

1/4 sheet GLOWBRIGHT colored stock handout with the following printed on it:

EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO NOW ABOUT THE REAL JOHN MCCAIN

McCainsLobbyists.com

Every time you grab a cuppa coffee, drop a couple off for the patrons.

Everytime you visit a book store or a local establishment, drop a couple off.

That's the way to bridge this chasm between on-line info gathering and the everyday person wanting the information, but not having the time to 'surf it up'....

It works.
Pamphleteering.
It is the American way.

Excellent idea, but most likely the majority will end up in the trash. There are too many trolls who don't want the truth to be out. If not for the Internet, and sites like HuffPo, how much of what is going on would we NOT know at all about???
It would most likely be a waste of trees (not to mention the chemicals used to make Glowbright inks) to try to "enlighten" people that do not necessarily know/want to be enlightened...

Nope. One on one. Talk to the people you know and meet. Interact. Get involved more than just pieces of paper. Paper can't influence people as much as people can...

If only the MSM would do it's job and actually keep this kind of daily watch list on Mac! This plus the oil companies clearly represented so no one can claim mis repped by anyone... The dates of the oil money hitting the Mac' pocket along with the dates he does the "drill offshore now". How that corresponds is a wonder to look at but MSM doesn't care about the truth nor lobbyists.

i wonder if Herald Ford really supports Obama. Most of the time he takes the side of Joe. I am confused at times about where Fords support really is. Perhaps as a trade off for air time he has to do this so he may continue being on morning show. I like Ford alot does anyone else here have any comments?

I have always felt Harold Ford was against Obama. He showed it more during the primaries. He did not want to show support for him because Hillary is a member of the DLC which is president. He wanted Hillary to win the nomination. Now, I feel he is jealous of Obama also he wants to support Joe in his views so Joe will invite him back to the show. You notice Joe only have people on his show who supports his views on Obama. Ford needs/wants the exposure because he plans on running for office again in the future. You can't get any more exposure than on national TV.

Call or write the MSM and demand they report this news as a significant part of campaign '08.
