Toby Keith: Obama Acts White To Win

Last week, I reported for the Huffington Post that country singer Toby Keith had performed a pro-lynching anthem on the Colbert Report, and would be playing the same song soon on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and a slew of nationally televised talk shows. ...

Now, Keith has trained his sights on Barack Obama, attacking him in racially tinged language that startled even the notoriously reactionary radio jock Glenn Beck. During Keith's appearance on the July 30 broadcast of Beck's show, he remarked, "I think the black people would say he [Obama] don't talk, act or carry himself as a black person."

"What does that even mean?" the audibly shocked Beck replied.

"Well, I don't know what that means," Keith drawled, "but I think that that's what they would say. Even though the black society would pull for him I still think that they think in the back of their mind that the only reason he is in [the general election] is because he talks, acts and carries himself as a Caucasian."

Race relations are going to get bad when Senator Obama becomes president. White resentment will be rampant. I am so pissed at that back wood, redneck, peckerwood Toby Keith I don't know what to do! This is what a great majority of white, country, back wood, rednecks think about blacks. That is exactly why Hillary won West Virginia, Kentucky, and some other states. All Toby Keith wants to do is hang Negroes like back in the old days! That is the kind of mentality that a lot of whites have that haven't been raised in or around other cultures of people! That is disturbing coming from Toby Keith because I know he's been around and traveled everywhere so those comments are coming from his heart! And that racist Glenn Beck shouldn't act surprised because he knew the statements that Keith made 'before' he was invited onto his show! That is why race will always be an issue in America...always! I can see where this is all leading¦AND IT ISN"T GOOD! Next thing you know, Toby Keith will be on Fox News on Hannity and Combs! There needs to be some attempt to control the media concerning the fanning of the flames of racism! This will not end well if people don"t stop copping the "Freedom of Speech" excuse as justification for poor manners, rude behavior and cloaked racism! Ah, I have heard Obama, in several speeches, saying that his father was African of color and his mother was white American and that he was raised by his mother and her parents. So who cares was culture he draws from. He exhibits behaviors that are acceptable to several cultures.

This clown would have gone ballistic had the "Dixie Chicks" been persons of color. Does this cowboy wear a kerchief because something is restricting blood and oxygen from getting to his brain!

It's people like Toby Keith and his kind (uninformed, undereducated, bigoted) who blindly accepted the administration's false case for war, and whipped up Americans' "patriotic fervor" to "go get them evil turrists in Iraq"! Though his songs rightly praise the and inspire our soldiers, I wonder if Keith ever stopped to think that these same soldiers were betrayed by their Commander in Chief and sent to a war on false premises! IMO, he used his "celebrity"---unlike the Dixie Chicks--to aid and abett that betrayal!

His comment about Obama exhibits his own ignorance and bigotry and is BENEATH CONTEMPT!

Here in lies the problem some white people are having with voting for Obama. He, like many black people, do not fit into thier comfertable little stereotype they have for all black people, so he must be hiding some dupious plan to do in all white people while acting white. hence all the bassless attacks of him being a muslim extremist or his wife being some sort of black power extremist. Toby Keith meanwhile is perpetuating a "red kneck" sterotype he is attacking Obama based on his own steryotype of black people.

Mr. Keith, just so you know, our looks are the product of our genetics, and our behavior is largely a product of the environment. Obama was raised by the Caucasian side of the family, so if he had grown up acting as though he'd lived in a black ghetto all his life, that would have been very surprising, don't you think?

Just goes to show, Tobey is multi-talented and proves that talent and IGNORANCE can walk and sing hand in hand. He is the living proof of what extinction should look like, man oh man, if figures first off he was on Glenn Beck (the I wannabe so bad Limbull or InSannity, Beck should do an intern @ FAUX he is on the wrong network) caught a lil of the show, knowing as a news observer what this hick is about with his lynching song, so for Glenn to feign "dismay" please, even I knew about this cr@p, for Glenn to pretend, it's so alcoholic of him (he forgot the 12 step rules, honesty one of em)!
