In this year's Olympics, fifteen eco-activist athletes will champion for their homelands and eco-friendly causes. As UN "Champions of the Environment", stars in Public Service Announcements and advocates for the GreenLaces positive environmental impact pledge, the earth-friendly Olympians have demonstrated their commitment to environmental awareness. China native Yao Ming, an animal rights advocate, has criticized China's rampant shark hunting for shark-fin soup, a traditional Chinese delicacy.

i really commend yao ming for his stances on animal poaching and shark fin poaching. those are two issues that are deeply entrenched in chinese culture through medicine and cuisine. he will probably face a lot of criticism and should be congratulated for his courage.
