The Obama campaign bus passes this billboard in for the Crossroads Community Church of Goshen, IN, Karl Black, director of ministry.

It's not the first attempt to capitalize on the presidential campaign to other ends, but it may be the cleverest.

What this sign is saying is that even Jesus would have been looked at as a crazy person by todays standards . Being called crazy is not a bad thing if you are living a Godworthy life and bringing people to Christ. Sometimes doing the right thing is not always the popular thing.

Should be a bumper sticker.

That sign will not stay up long - the members of that church are very laid-back and very rural, and they don't like that kind of nonsense.
Many other churches, the really right wing churches, are already preaching that Senator Obama is the anti-christ, and people are eating it up (believing it).

We need to keep spreading the word that Senator Obama is a christian and not the scary devil that he's protrayed to be.

Some Christians have told me to 1st look for a pastor who loves the Lord wholly & preaches the word of the Lord. These Christians insist that their pastor loves & serves the Lord. It's kind of like all of us are children of the Lord. They insist that all of us, including pastors, serve the Lord 1st; they remind me that no human can serve 2 masters. They mean, I think, that no human can be true to more than 1 love. Fidelity is a big thing for them.

Bo chose Wright to be his pastor. Wright is not crazy, he is very calculating.

Still puzzles me as to how Bo could stay there and listen to that anti american racist,
hate spewing man.

Was this simply a clever bit of marketing, or was Mr. (Reverend?) Black trying to tell us something about the current state of "commercialized" religion in this country?

funny. is he one of those "I need 10% of the pre-tax before you can be saved" or does he really believe what he's preaching? now that he's got some attention, he has to clafify!

Yes, folks, some Evangelicals actually have a sense of humor! Scary thought, isn't it?
Let's all watch the comments for this article, and see how many of them show the readers who don't!

My predition is 1out of every 10 comments will be ignorant and/or disdainful (negative, if you will) of this creative and humorous message.

The fact that someone's a loon doesn't mean they can't be funny.

"The Faith of Barack Obama," by Stephen Mansfield

http://www.amazon.com/Faith-Barack-Obama-Stephen-Mansfield/dp/1595552502/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1217862248&sr=1-1

The above book is great! It is an educational and easy to read book. The book is especially good for people unfamiliar with black churches. I learned about Black Liberation Theology, which is much different from what I heard on TV. The author is objective. He helps answer why Obama stayed in Rev Wright's church for 20 years.

The book also has a very interesting chapter about the religious faith of John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and George W Bush.

Read the comments on Amazon.
