Justice Department Will Be Asked To Investigate McCain Bundlers

This is interesting: A good government group is set to ask the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into the two big McCain stories of recent days -- the bundled contributions from Hess executives, and the bundling by Harry Sargeant, the guy who raised cash for McCain from a host of unlikely donors.

The request, which will be made on Monday by Campaign Money Watch, which first flagged the Hess story to us, raises at least the possibility that such a probe could be initiated during the campaign. Barring that, it could keep the stories going in the press a bit.

David Donnelly of Campaign Money Watch confirms to me that they'll make the formal request on Monday, and MoveOn also is demanding a Federal probe in an email that just went out to supporters. Donnelly says that his group's request is being triggered by McCain's letter to the donors whose contributions had been bundled by Sargeant. Donnelly said that the letter, which advised the donors of the legal ins-and-outs of such contributions, didn't go far enough in trying to determine what had happened.

It is amazing how many passes Mccain is getting and the ones he has gotten while it appears like Obama is watched still ith a microscope with McCain doing the screaming about Obama and how bad Obama is! We have not seen Obama trying to get his wife to disrobe for "funs" sake in a bike get together. Obama has tried to scrub all of the donations he is getting so no lobbyist monies like McCain has in excess gets through. Also Obama knows where the hell he is at and where he is tlakiing about where gaffe man McCain has trouble knowing what state he is in unless people are waving signs to tell him. McCain's teleprompter is big enough for people who need strong glasses to read and he still can't do it. The attacks are insane and Mccain has not seen yet they are vile and nasty and untrue and the majority know it. Why the GOP isn't handling him better is a shock as you would think his being their "brand" they would deal with it.

The media ignores every outrage by McCain while buying into the McCain strategy that Obama supporters are lovestruck cult members. A candidate being popular and inspiring to many millions of people is now a suspect thing.

Well, this story hasn't been getting nearly the attention I thought it would. And now it will take a back seat to the Edwards story all weekend.
I don't think it would matter if the money came directly from Bin Laden, It would get little more focus than it is now investigation or not.
