CNN:

Tickets for Barack Obama's Democratic National Convention speech at the Invesco Field in Denver sold out within 24 hours, according to campaign officials.

In early July, convention organizers announced the Illinois senator would officially accept the Democratic nomination at the 75,000 seat stadium rather than a 20,000 seat hall.

**THIS JUST IN**
McCain is playing to a respectable twilight dinner crowd at the Sun City Center Ramada in Ruskin, Florida. Free Cottonelle wipes for the first 20 seniors. **Proof of age is required.

Green with envy and red with rage. So, he'll simply turn to plan "A". Spin this as further proof of what an elitist, publicity-seeking celebrity Obama is. See, contrary to what those of us with IQs numerically much greater than our ages think (bad word), intelligent, articulate, inspirational, accomplished, competent, goal-oriented - are all bad traits. Slovenly, stuttering, bumbling, mumbling, ignorant - especially of economics, energy, and geopolitics - are good positive traits. Oh throw in sexist towards one's spuse as well - another indispensable trait.

Poor old Johnny Mc Cain has to GO where the people have gathered for something else (i.e. Sturgis) and then use those people as his audience. I was watching him come out on stage in Sturgis and he was saying WOW, WOW, as he was walking out and I thought poor old guy thinks they are there for him.

Too bad there won't be a supermarket with a cheese/deli aisle big enough for McCain's speech

Treatment of Bill Clinton during his term: despicable...
Treatment of Hillary Clinton then and now: despicable...
Treatment of Barack Obama: Heinous (he could repeat the Berliners welcome in 30 countries and that is worth more to America than all the bombs and oil companies ever created)
Treatment of the truth--well now there is a rant...

Single most discussed topic around the "rest of the worlds'" average dinner table when the topic turns to America is how the &^$% can Bill Clinton get impeached and villified for what he did and this administration (sic) plays you people like puppets? VOTE!!!!!!

Let us have better planning next time, bigger venue is what we need. With McCain so obsessed with his celebrity list we need to show him what a self made intelligent, upright, athletic, compassionate, constitutional law professor, US senator, celebrity is like.

Bring it on Grumpy Old Papa

Time for the Trolls to recite their latest meaningless talking point: "Obama is nothing but a celebrity". This large-scale event proves it.

Maybe it was a bad move to limit seating to 75,000, when he drew 250,000 in Berlin. Paul Simon drew half a million people in Central Park after 911. I suggest that planning start now for holding his inaugural speech in the Mall, with Obama perched on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Either that or hold it in Bethel, NY, and call it Woodstock II. The Broncos fill their own stadium. So what? Numbers have nothing to do with it. Lincoln spoke at Gettysburg for 2 minutes in front of 15,000 people. Will Obama's speech be five times better?

Thanks for stepping right in and proving my point. If 75,000 people show up to see a rock band, it's a safe bet that the band is good. Same if a huge number show up to see a football team. It stands to reason that Obama has something good that people want to see/hear. I think it's his message. Now if you right wingers want to argue that those 75,000 people are going to see Obama for some other, less valid reason. Have at it. But simply labeling him a 'celebrity' without specifically stating just what it is that invalidates him or his message, is pointless.

BHO had to bribe the 250,000 germans with a free concert and free beer and food. As for Denver, there are going to be over 1,000,000 extra Democrats in town for the convention. Getting 75,000 to see you at the stadium is no big deal.

Things have changed a bit since Lincoln's days. People can travel a bit easier. These days they have cars and airplanes and other marvelous inventions.

"Will Obama's speech be five times better?" Who knows? It will certainly be better than anything McCain has ever delivered.

John McCain will be appearing at the Chipley, Florida Possum Festival before a crowd of a few hundred during Obama’s show off event at Invesco Field. Shortly after the Invocation and Welcome, he’ll attend the Pancake Breakfast, help judge the Corn Pone Baking and Hog Calling Contests, and he’ll get to crown the new Miss Possum Festival. How do you like them apples, Barack!

And the CNN corporate news network sats there is a 5-6 point difference in the two candidates because the old media dinosaurs poll (who they want to skew the stats) and likely or registered voters. Old people like me who have voted for 30 years!.
No pollster is taking into account the newly registered - the new voters, youth, black & hispanic -who will decide this election. mCSAME NEEDS TO GO CHANGE HIS DIAPER!

These 'people'

minorities?

young people?

Oh yes they do vote. When they have a candidate they believe in.

Besides - the national polls don't mean diddly. They're media fodder.

Only the states matter - if McCain takes all his projected states including the tossups -
he still loses. Loses.

Obama will have 50+ EC votes over the needed 270. McCain will not even be close.
