Angelina Jolie Endorsement Sought By Both Obama, McCain Campaigns

Wilshire and Washington:

It may seem as if most entertainment industry figures are aligning with Barack Obama and just a few with John McCain, but there are still a handful of famous names who are still on the fence. And both campaigns are well aware of one star who stands out among the undecideds: Angelina Jolie.

Both campaigns have reached out to her, apparently to court her support. But in a statement to Variety provided by political adviser Trevor Neilson, Jolie says that she is waiting to make up her mind.

Some of these comments are really insulting to Jolie. How sad. She's made some pretty personal choices that reflect poorly on her character, but I think she's a mixed bag.

How many of you that have left comments insulting her intelligence have actually BEEN to Iraq, or the Sudan, or any of the countries you have given your opinion on? How many of you raise money for these types of organizations she supports in the millions? How many of you have taken children into your home to raise as your own? There are plenty of millionaires. How many adopt ONE child?

I'm proud to live in a country where I get to choose my candidate based on my own personal experiences.

I AM a BO supporter, because he supports issues that I believe in. She's obviously undecided because she doesn't think the issues she supports ARE being addressed. If she was JUST for war, she would have decided on McCain already.

I don't agree with Jolie's opinion, but I won't insult her personal lifestyle because she doesn't agree. That's just well...too Republican for me.

Celebrities do not lose their intelligence, nor their right to have an opionion, when they become famous. The ratio of incredibly stupid celebrities is the same as it is for incredibly stupid regular citizens..­. Jolie is not one of the stupid celebrities.
