Angelina Jolie

Wilshire and Washington:

It may seem as if most entertainment industry figures are aligning with Barack Obama and just a few with John McCain, but there are still a handful of famous names who are still on the fence. And both campaigns are well aware of one star who stands out among the undecideds: Angelina Jolie.

Both campaigns have reached out to her, apparently to court her support. But in a statement to Variety provided by political adviser Trevor Neilson, Jolie says that she is waiting to make up her mind.

What in the world is happening with HuffPo? Please, please, please don't become as shallow as the rest of the media!

We're on the brink of World War III with the situation in Georgia and Russia and you give us the Edwards "scandal" and celebrity endorsements. I pray that HuffPo isn't going to meander down the path of sensationalism and nonstories. Say it isn't true Arianna!

Oh, come on. HuffPo has an entertainment section...don't get your undies all in a bunch. Angelina is very well respected for many reasons. Just because this story is here doesn't mean the stories you are interested in are not. HuffPo is still the best news source for TRUTH, regardless of the occasional celebrity endorsement or scandal story. Calm down.... it's ok. ;)

If she's undecided, then she knows NOTHING about the history of the Republican party so who cares what she thinks.

Her daddy Jon Voigt endorsed McCain, and actually wrote an editorial that treated to satirical treatment here. Well, who cares? She is not Oprah.

Jolie is holding out so she can get more free publicity. But her efforts this time are backfiring because more and more opinions about her are negative.

"I have not decided on a candidate," Jolie says, "I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world."

Shut the F*CK up. I have two words for you: Supreme Court.

How the hell does McCain figure it's okay to call Obama a celebrity then go ahead and court one of those supposedly vile, empty gasbags for his own campaign? The way politics is done in this country is all that you need to conclude the electorate is a pack of drooling nitwits.

She doesnt exactly come across as an intellectual when she opens her mouth. She usually talks about sex with her boyfriend.

Didn't her and Brad Pitt say they weren't marrying until gays could? I don't see how she can be entertaining the idea of John McCain. Neither of them should seek her endorsement. I like her, but come on, we don't need her to endorse Obama.

She's crazy if she could even entertain the thought of voting for McCain.

Jolie says, "I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world."

International justice. Protection of human rights and the rule of law throughout the world. MCCAIN's WAR is foreign policy and waterboarding is okay is alien humanity and justice. "When confronted today with the decision of whether to stick with his conscience or cave to the right wing, McCain chose to ditch his principles and instead vote to preserve http://thinkprogress.org/2008/02/13/mccain-waterboarding-fail/boarding-fail/

Refugees? Obama is concerned about the 4 million displaced Iraqis. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/hanna-ingber-win/obama-mccain-skirt-iraqi_b_111710.html

Jolie says, "The U.S. should step up financial and material assistance to Iraq --- not withdraw from its commitment in the region."

Obama will leave troops and personel to serve our Iraqi committment. Obama's Iraqi trip statement. http://www.wtop.com/?nid=213&sid=1323078

Squander progress made? That is arguable,
Obama is fundementally a humanitarian thus more likely than "bomb, bomb, and bomb" IRAN if necessary McCain to serve humanitarian causes..

She is a humanitarian. McCain is not, never has been, never will be. Seems a major block quirk in her thinking that she has to weigh future revelations of policy by these two candidates when past behaviour and current behaviour reveal which candidate will in fact act humanely regarding these issues important to her.

If one of the candidates can secure her endorsement, we may as well call off the election. That'll clinch it!

I refuse to believe O is chasing down the endorsement of a person who carried a vial of blood around her neck......... plzzzzz

I imagine O is happily surfing and visiting family in Hawaii and would laugh his @ss of if he even saw the bit about Jolie. I don't think either candidate is chasing her. MORE PUBLICITY for AJ.
