Just when you thought the real world concerns coming out of Eastern Europe might send the Presidential campaign winging back in a more adult direction, John McCain hangs out his douchenozzle flag again, returning to his juvenile "Celebrity" meme. He'd have been wise to drop this theme, since the Obama campaign's decision to try to mine the same territory was the "Celebrity" attack's definitive shark-jumping moment. I guess the McCain camp just couldn't resist adding a Surge of race-card jujitsu for spice -- this new, painful, offering practically begs the Obama camp to draw the obvious "Harold, call me!" comparison.

Just when you thought the real world concerns coming out of Eastern Europe might send the Presidential campaign winging back in a more adult direction, John McCain hangs out his douchenozzle flag agai...

Too bad for the McCain campaign that they can not find a BAD PHOTO of Obama to feature in his attack ads.

The repeat the same charges over and over while just changing the background with Obama giving and earnest smile. Not the green-toothed forced grin that McCain expresses.

Is this the much talk-about Republican Attack Machine that we have been worried about since the campaigning began ?

I've seen better written material on grammar school blackboards.

It would be like rounding the square. Not possible.

McCain's strategy in a nutshell:

"Randolph Duke: Now, what are we going to do about taking Winthorpe back and returning Valentine to the ghetto?
Mortimer Duke: I don't want Winthorpe back, after what he's done.
Randolph Duke: You mean, keep *Valentine* on as managing director?
Mortimer Duke: Do you really believe I would have a ni&%$r run our family business, Randolph?
Randolph Duke: Of course not. Neither would I. "

I'm wondering, where's the one with the 72-year-old grandpa with the blown up face trying to chase after 20-something scantily-clad biker chicks. Make sure we get that infantile grin (with drool) and cackle.

This is the most sophomoric ad to date - insult the people you would like to vote for you... not very many sharp knives in that mc drawer, are there?

That ad says it all about McKain and his campaign - totally devoid of any sense of credibility whatsoever.

I'll take the leader with the "dreamy" eyes as opposed to Squinty McGee thanks.

I think he's run out of political advisors and is taking free ads from jr. high kids posting on Youtube. If I were a Republican donor - I'd ask for my money back.

They say they've noticed that in phone calls he tends to get lost and just agrees with whoever spoke last - and they want him for president.

I think Obama needs to just start ignoring McCain altogether - and when asked say - "Hey, I'm working on issues in the grown-up world". And start preparing for those debates and clean McCain's clock on them to settle the question of who knows what's going on in this world.

Speaking as an Advertising student (Senior year), something else is happening here. I know a ton of fellow students who wouldn't even turn crap like this in to the teacher, let alone put it in their portfolio.
Is it possible that the Rep.'s actually believe they don't really need to run an effective campaign, are they really betting that much on the "Scary Black Guy" effect?
It stands to reason that people (especially the undecideds) will eventually get tired of such a forgettable message and ask for some real information.
The least McCain could do is give his supporters some "Intelligent" ammunition.
I understand that the targeted demographic is his own bigotted base, but he already has their vote.
People that are less conciously racist will eventually get used to Obama's face on t.v., and he will eventually move from seeming like Malcom X to somewhere between M.L. King and Bill Cosby.
Racism fades with familiarity + positive experiences.

On the other hand, maybe the Reps have something on their calendar we don't. Like an ugly european conflict which will very soon spin out of control and turn into an all out war over oil.
In which case they will use fear of people like Putin and Ahamenijad to convince people "He isn't ready".

I am far from being an advertising student (by a few decades) but I agree this is wack. Beyond wack. If you wanted to do a quick seminar on ads that don't work, this could lead the examples.

Georgia is a problem area, but before it can become an election factor, Bushie would have to actually take a stand. I'm not holding my beath.

Cheers

I was at a party yesterday and i stood next to a college educated woman who doesn't go on the web, has no tv, and reads a newspaper just once a week. She said she didn't know who she would vote for because both candidates are honorable. I told her that was no longer so-I reviewed the new ads with her, told her about McCain's treatment and attitude towards women over the years-she was shocked-and said she would vote for Obama. People need to know about this.

I just saw Gov. Ridge making the sale for The Maverick today and Ridge appears to be backing away from The Maverick's saber rattling against Russia. I guess The Maverick doesn't know we need the Russians to leverage Iran.

Is there any conflict that The Maverick doesn't want to solve militarily? He wants a surge on economy. I am starting to think that means adding troops somewhere.

You know? War, War, War, will somebody buy that old wrinkly guy a XBOX 360 and a couple of war video games so that he will stop trying to play general with our Country? JMac should be way more scary to Americans than a black/white Harvard grad running off with all their women...even through he's married and devoted to his family.

To whom is this ad addressed, what is its message and why is it bad for Obama?

It's supposed to make John McCain and media pundits laugh at how stupid voters are.

Media pundits, however, don't need voters. McCain apparently doesn't either.

This ad attacks the average American as much as it attacks Obama. I hope people wake up and see what McCain is trying to do.

It's subtle? They won't notice?

Obama has already garnered more actual votes than John McCain ever has, in any one election.

John McCain is sitting pretty? He feels comfortable attacking 18 million voters?

What an enormous ego.

This is maybe on the level of a sixth grader. They just get more ridiculous. They must do these after drinking all night or they have no judgment at all.

John McCain has obviously lost his mind. This is too sad for words.

Hey John get out of the mud, please.

obviously once you lay down in the mud, it's hard to get back up. Apparently he has no other recourse but to play the idiotic desperation card.
