On Friday David Plouffe, Barack Obama's campaign manager, pinpointed John McCain's involvement in a deal that could cost Ohio thousands of jobs as a critical moment in the campaign. Plouffe argued that the deal would cost McCain voters in the swing state. The AFL-CIO is trying to prove him right -- they sent a mailer to voters in Ohio that reads, "8,000 Ohio Jobs Lost? Don't Let McCain Get Away With It." On the back, it explains how McCain's campaign manager lobbied for DHL, a foreign firm that bought an American company and now has plans to close its hub in Wilmington, Ohio. The mailer also describes McCain as a "millionaire politician" who could have stopped the deal but didn't.

Here's the mailer:

Ben Smith reports that the mailer went to 100,000 "union swing voters."

Fantastic!! That's a terrific mailer.

Keep it up, Ohioans. (What's the appropriate way to refer to people who live in Ohio?)

Agree with your post but please don't use caps.
It makes it hard to read and it's the equivalent of shouting.
Thanks

This has 16,000 legs. How many households are going to suffer economic hardship because of Mc Same_Bush and his cohorts averice? This man will do anything for the cash; regardless of who suffers the consequences of his actions. If you do not believe this, just ask his first wife.

This is what happens when all your campaign advisers are paid lobbyist. Soon or later you will be exposed because you will owe all these lobbyist favors. Just like Bush/Cheney owed big oil.....McCain will owe them big time as well. Now everybody in Ohio will know McCain and his lobbyists lost all their jobs to a foreign interests.

John McCain Sleeps with Grover Norquist, One of the Most Corrupt Men in Washington!

The McCain tax plan is essentially a continuation of the agenda articulated by Grover Norquist and others to achieve piecemeal but radical changes to the U.S. tax code under the heading of “Five Easy Pieces.” These changes require huge spending cuts, shift the tax burden away from capital and onto labor, and come at the expense of lower- and middle-income Americans.

I'm thrilled to see this is getting national attention. It's about Ohio, yes, but also about MORE than Ohio. The pattern over the years is important.

One state at a time..........one lobbyist nightmare after another! Which state/s will be next? I bet the little man is starting to get a bit worried now about all of his history. Way to go AFLCIO!

Everyone should spend 10 minutes each day on Digg. There are emerging stories
on there all the time (in the Upcoming header). Unless people view & digg these new
stories, they are never seen and there are always some real goodies there.

John McBush is a shining example of how political favors that got him only a fine from the Keating Five crimes against America has come back to haunt America and American citizens once again in Ohio. John McBush should have gone down with all the others.
He has gotten away with things which no political hack would have without favors due to nepotism.
John Edward is going down for a sexual love affair.
John McBush should be vetted in the same light as Edwards.
He is practicing still, his same OLD graft and corruption.
I am proud to say crashing multiple jets and nearly not graduating from the Navel Acadamy along with his many undercover deals that would come to light if he were in the Democratic party have not made him a great example of what America needs as our Commander in Chief.

Ohio shouldn't even need this to persuade them, they should've had their fill of JM back in the 80s with the S&L debacle....

I agree that free trade is bogus when we're the only ones with our arms open wide (not to mention how developing countries STILL can't get a fair piece of "free")...

Waste of money. This is a personal ad, this is where Obama is really kicking ass, his team are targeting smaller areas with cheaper but effective ads.
