AFL-CIO Targets McCain Ohio Deal In Mailer

On Friday David Plouffe, Barack Obama's campaign manager, pinpointed John McCain's involvement in a deal that could cost Ohio thousands of jobs as a critical moment in the campaign. Plouffe argued that the deal would cost McCain voters in the swing state. The AFL-CIO is trying to prove him right -- they sent a mailer to voters in Ohio that reads, "8,000 Ohio Jobs Lost? Don't Let McCain Get Away With It." On the back, it explains how McCain's campaign manager lobbied for DHL, a foreign firm that bought an American company and now has plans to close its hub in Wilmington, Ohio. The mailer also describes McCain as a "millionaire politician" who could have stopped the deal but didn't.

Anything that increases a corporation's profits is good, regardless of the severity of the impact on America's workers, America's environment, and even America's future.

Putting McCain - or any Republican - into any national office and expecting them to run a "government of the people, by the people, for the people" is no less irresponsible than granting a convicted child molester a daycare license.

Me, I'm a little suspicious of "the machine" in Ohio...met­hinks rather than say "Wake-up Ohio!", the phrase should be "Remember to fill out your back-up paper ballots, Ohio!".

MoveOn needs to get off of the youtube train and start focusing on McCain's lobbyist problem. No body likes MoveOn (but us) but they could be an effect piece of the puzzle if they stay accurate and keep it above the belt. There are plenty of unfortunate facts about McCain that can and should be heard.

Remember also that it was M'cCain who originally supported that a $30 billion dollar defense contract go to France's Airbus instead of the U.S.' Boeing Corp. He only changed his mind months later when American taxpayers were outraged that their tax money would be going to a foreign country, especially during a time when globalization and outsourcing has been ravaging the American worker and the American economy.

sometimes when a person says something, it doesn't mean it's true. That's why we have to look up what the facts are. Many of McCain's statements can be confirmed by looking at his own votes, or looking for the entire quote when he says he's quoting somebody.

It's best to look into it all yourself.
