Hybrid cars are neat. Cutting back on energy is pretty cool.

But what about cutting out fossil fuels entirely in your living space? It's not an easy thing to do, because of infrastructure, unless you're part of a whole community doing it.

So EcoGeek has found a planned community that will do just that. It's calling itself the first fossil-fuel-free community in the world. Not quite true, but it's probably the first one in a while in North America:

The latest trend in the green movement - other than EVs - seems to be greenhousing communities. Considering everyone needs a place to live, this is a perfect focus for injecting green technology into daily living. Arvada, Colorado is all over this concept, going farther than solar roofing, or LEED certification goals. They're setting up a community that will completely eliminate the use of fossil fuels.

Called Geos, the 25-acre area will have 250 homes from smaller 850 square feet to mansion-sized 3,500+ square feet placed in four neighborhoods. While that's a whole lot of houses, they'll be keeping a whopping 40% of the area as green space.

I personally feel like this is how energy use is going to change in America, at a community and state level. Congress and the executive branch is too beholden to lobbyists, its up to the states to take up the reigns. Texas is building a windfarm that will not only power their own state, but produce enough energy for them to sell to other states. Massachussets governor Duval Patrick signed in a bill to help improve environmental standards, give businesses incentives to go green, and provide green jobs. More and more cities, counties, and states are tired of waiting on the feds and are making their own changes.

Think globaly, act localy

Good!

Its funny that the people tha will be buying these state of the art, renewable energy homes will likely be all young professionals with growing families and technical individuals who want to live in a science project with more potential

And now it has started.

Not in some science lab,, but at HOME,,, where change is most needed.

And we are witnesses.

Energy independence, and a better America.

China may be the first with an all Solar City, but America is not far behind. Europe too, has gone green.

You know!

The next time I see George W. Bush,, I am going to shake his hand and thank him.

Without his WARS for oil,, none of this would have been possible.

Unwittingly,, maybe,, but George Bush has driven a stake into the heart of the predatory monopolistic Vampire of OIL.

George W Bush,, is histories,,,, Silver Bullet,,, that killed the werewolf of Coal,,, that held America hostage for nearly 2 centuries.

Some of us servants,,, some of us ,,,, TOOLS.

All the best
