John Mayer And Jennifer Aniston Split Up

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have called it quits, multiple sources confirm to PEOPLE.

"They had a great time together but they are just in different places in their lives right now," says a source of Aniston, 39, and Mayer, 30, who kicked off their courtship in April.

A friend of Mayer adds that a reconciliation isn't necessarily out of the question: "He never ends things with a clean slate. He likes to dwell on these relationships and sort everything out before saying goodbye for good."

I like Jennifer Aniston as an actress. She brightens the screen although many of her films have bombed at the box office. I admire her for the way she handled her marriage when it exploded. I felt she was very circumspect and said little. I wish she'd take a tip from some of the singles actresses and adopt a child. She is probably still in love with Pitt and it maybe hard for her to commit to others. Heart break, by any other name, is still heart break. I most certainly wish her well.

Big news is not that a celebrity broke up with another celebrity. That happens every day of the week. Big news is when two celebrities find it within themselves to make a commitment, actually *make* that commitment, and fulfill their commitment to each other. That's a rarity. That's big news. This story does't qualify on any level. A couple o' celebs horsin' around.

I get tired of the poor Jen this and poor Jen that...its' just as bad as the whole Brangelina circus. When Sheryl Crow's relationship with Lance Armstrong didn't pan out, did she sit around and feel sorry for herself (and she had far more problems to worry about than Jen)? No, she wanted to be a mother, so she went and adopted a lovely baby. She didn't wait around for the perfect mate to show up first. And she is not the only single mother to do this these days...

Jen needs to figure out what her priorities are and move on...if it's marriage, stop hooking up with entertainers, find a nice lawyer, businessman, or maybe even a teacher. She's an attractive woman, she should have no problem. If it's children, stop waiting around and just adopt...If she wants meaning in her life, join the Peace Corps (that would certainly trump the Brangelina circus)...

John seems to be a very active 30 year old....3 months doesn't count as anything memorable.
At some point ya gotta ask yourself if she just doesn't do well maintaing relationsh­ips.......­that's not a slam, but at 39, ya gotta get objective about it. not being in a 'relationship', doesn't make her less than human.

It almost seems like Jen thinks she HAS to have a man. When you run from man to man, it takes forever to find out who you really are and what you really want. She should take some time to herself . Be alone for a while and quiet that part of her.

I think Jen was in a tough position with Brad when she was trying to balance out her career and her marriage. She has since then wanted something stable so desperately that she has gone out and made some bad choices. Brad was probably not the right person for her anyway if he didn't stick it out with her for whatever reason (and not for me to judge). It seems Brad and Angelina are working things out fine with their ever growing brood. It must be difficult being in Jen's position witnessing the media darling that they have become.

I think Jennifer is still carrying at least a torch for Brad. Bad choices in men are probably inevitable when you're still hurting for your lost husband. I have always thought it would be horribly painful to be a Hollywood high profile type with a failed marriage and husband who ends up with a major celebrity and keeps making news. I don't see how she held her head above water. I still think Anniston has behaved with dignity as far as PItt and Jolie are concerned.
