McCain's Lobbyists Raked In $1 Billion From U.S. Clients, Study Says

The non-partisan group Campaign Money Watch has come up with another startling figure for those who follow the presidential money chase.

According to an analysis performed by the group, McCain's top fundraisers and aides have collected nearly $1 billion in fees from U.S. companies in the past decade -- specifically, $930,949,819. Using numbers provided by the Center for Responsive Politics, the group also found that officials of those very same companies have given nearly $12 million to McCain's presidential campaign, so far.

"The McCain campaign relies on big money lobbyists, and they'll rely on him," said David Donnelly, director of Campaign Money Watch. "In the 'you-scratch-my-back, I'll-scratch-yours' world of Washington, $931 million gets the special interests the best government money can buy. But just think of the payday these lobbyists might expect in a McCain Administration."

Donnelly's group previously launched a website called McCainsLobbyists.com, in which users can track the special interests represented by 40 of John McCain's top fundraisers and advisers.

Corporate Welfare Lobbyists are bleeding the turnip that was once America dry.

Just take a look at health care. Per CIA's World Book stats, we rank 37th, behind Saudi Arabia for mortality, but spend a much higher portion of our GDP. And where does the money go?

Perhaps this is why the former GAO Comptroller David Walker was on "60 Minutes" talking about Bush signing the Prescription Drug Benefit package as the "most irresponsible" bill in decades. (Minute 5 if you look this up on You Tube). The interview is entitled "US Government Immorality Will Lead To Bankruptcy".

As I have said before, Privatization Capitalism = Communism in it's altruistic belief people won't take advantage of situations to rip others, including the American taxpayer. Bush, Chaney, Mitch Daniels, are no better than Communists-http://kittendiatribes.wordpress.com .

Let's face it - we the democrats are fighting this well-oiled billion dollar machine - and they want to win at any cost - assassinations, smears,mud-slinging, falsehoods,lies- whatever.

So - poor us - we are struggling with grocery bills and gas bills and not taking vacations - and basically buy into their b*ll-s**t.

Americans wake up now!! Take back your country! Donate to campaigns - so we can fight these billion dollar contributions.

I hope they pay the taxes on that money. Does it come under ' Capitol gains ' ,
short term or long term ?. During WW !! Charlie Wilson, the CEO of General Motors when challenged by the US Government on some of his war time policies, replied that " what was good for GM a was good for the USA". It was not true then and certainly not true today. GM is in the crapper today and if we continue with big business running roughshod over American values it may happen if the Congress don't take control and rein in credit card and mortgage abuses. The lax tax treatment of mega industry organizations is shameful. Very few pay taxes. The lobbyist have many ex-Senators and Congressmen in their circle and many still in office. Only an honest media can make America better, They should live the first amendment, not just use it to make a point for their own welfare.

QUESTION: The poor folk who are voting for him think he'll make their lives better?

HINT: you can't be for the rich and for the poor at the same time. The rich make their money off the backs of the poor.

ANSWER: If you're poor, it will only get worse under McCain. You won't be able to afford the tissue to dry your tears.

UNFORTUNATELY MOST OF THE POOR DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER OR THEY MAY NOT EVEN BE ABLE TO USE THE INTERNET! I think that this is very sad because these people are being TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF, BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO? How do we correct this?
I WISH I KNEW THE ANSWER, THE ONLY THING THAT I CAN THINK OF IS TO MAKE OUR THOUGHTS KNOWN! KEEP ON BLOGGING, SAYING WHY YOU THINK JOHN McCAIN SHOULD NOT BE THE POTUS!

I want to know too. The press dropped it mighty quick have you noticed. McCain can say anything
at all and it hits the news, whether true or not. No one checks out facts it seems.
We are in trouble.

Take a look around this website ,mainly the connections between the USA politicans and Georgias OIL ,look at the loans and money TAXPAYERS HERE are giving Georgia ....U.S.-Georgia relations continue to be close. Georgian leaders note that U.S. humanitarian assistance was critical to Georgia's recovery from civil war and economic difficulties following independence. Extensive U.S. assistance is currently targeted to support Georgia's economic and political reform programs, with an emphasis on institution building. The U.S. also is working with the Georgian Parliament on draft laws and establishing procedures and standards consistent with the country's 1995 Constitution. The United States provided Georgia approximately $1.2 billion in assistance through 2001, averaging about $100 million annually. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/georgia/intro-fp.htm

It was HILARIOUS when McCain said he would purge the lobbyists from his campaign but still had about 100 of them STILL serving him.
