The Masterful Math Of Tucker Bounds

I'm really enjoying McCain spokesperson Tucker Bounds' response to this Obama ad today:

"In the Senate, Barack Obama has voted in lockstep with President George W. Bush nearly half the time, including the Bush-Cheney Energy bill which gave close to 3 billion dollars in new giveaways to Big Oil - a terrible policy that John McCain opposed. The truth is Barack Obama's plan is a job killing machine that ignores the struggling economy and raises taxes on family savings, social security and small businesses," said Tucker Bounds, a spokesman for McCain.

Wow! So, this is "Straight Talk." Where "lockstep" voting means "half the time." Oh, I'm sorry! "NEARLY" half the time! Since the McCain camp started in with their "Celebrity" ads, I had worried that none of them had been to the movies since Titanic and Wayne's World were in the theaters. But this memo is clear evidence that Bounds, at least, has seen Anchorman.

Brian Fantana: [about Veronica] I'll give this little cookie an hour before we're doing the no-pants dance. Time to musk up.

Of course, Bounds is losing his bearings. Not too long ago, he was quick to point out how out of lockstep Obama was with the President!

This afternoon, McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds hit back, "The truth is National Journal, a non-partisan publication, ranked Barack Obama as the most liberal Senator in the U.S. Senate. John McCain simply said that he didn't know whether or not Barack Obama is a socialist, and noted that national rankings have rated him as more liberal than the only self-proclaimed socialist in the Senate. It's up to Barack Obama to explain his extreme record."

So, where does this leave President Bush? Is it up to Bush to explain 40% of his extreme record? Is he nearly half of the most liberal Senator? Is he almost in lockstep with socialism?

No, silly! He's Brick Tamland.

Not racism that drives this Independent away. It is Socialism. Obama's "economic justice" and plans to tax corporations and give the money to us as another stimulus check is just the begining. When would it end. After taking money from corporations, why not take it from anyone who makes more than "X" amount of dollars a year and so on. It is the first step toward Socialism.

Obama is no more a socialist than my pet airdale. Because you believe in taking care of Americans first does not mean your a socialist. Because you believe in taking care of our senior citizens and those soldiers that have served this country with honor does not make you a socialist. Because you believe that every child has the right to equal and fair education, and that all children have the right to go to college, does not make you a socialist.
Because you believe in fair and equitable tax does not make you a socialist. A man working two jobs 60+ hours a week at $8.75 an hour to house and feed his wife and 3 children, that cant afford medical care, that can not afford to pay that 8% tax rate, where as that CEO that makes an annual salary and benefit package that exceeds 10 to 100 million a year can afford to pay a portion of that man 8% plus his normal 25% that he really doesnt pay because his accountant has found a few thousand loop holes in our tax code so the CEO only pays 3-4%. Sorry Obama is not a socialist he is just a man that believes all people have basic equal rights. According to Obama's tax plan, he and his wife will pay more taxes than they have in the past and he is willing to do that.

That energy bill also had the biggest program for clean energy of any U.S. bill ever offered. The republicans demanded the compromise on big oil or else nothing for clean energy. I'm glad about the clean energy and I want the democrats to get 60 seats in the senate this time so the republicans can't hold the country hostage with the fillibuster the way they have blocked every law for the past two years.

At this point the McCain game is - pick a lie about Obama, any lie, that will justify you not voting for Obama. They figure, if they throw enough out, at least one will stick.

Tucker Bounds' math sounds like he has been drinking from the same crazy well as McCain so maybe they make sense to each other! Obama has little in common with Bush and I would think just being someone who has a better lock on reality, he would not be close to Bush and what Bush wants unless it has to happen and to claim the amount he has claimed either time Obama has been voting ike Bush he would have the exact same voting record as Mccain does in the Senate. We all know that is a bit off the mark or crazy. The Mac movement needs something to mobilized their bowels it does seem as constipation has been known to cause crappy thinking.
