Obama Reaches 2 Million Donors

Barack Obama's campaign has been encouraging supporters to "make history" by helping the campaign pass the 2,000,000 donor mark. Today they reached their goal:

Today we achieved something amazing -- 2,000,000 donors owning a piece of this campaign.

In the face of John McCain's low road tactics, it's more important than ever to keep our movement growing and show the power of millions of grassroots supporters coming together to work for change.

Thank you for all you have done to build this movement.

As campaign manager David Plouffe said in an earlier fundraising email, "Two million donors is an incredible number -- a number that was previously unimaginable for presidential campaigns. And it's a number this campaign never dreamed we could reach before the convention."

Thanks for the heads up on this video! It is a beautiful tribute. Somehow, I know his Papa can hear him, and is so proud of his son. At last we have hope for a brighter future and a return to democratic values.

Good for you young and not so young for being so excited and getting behind Obama. He needs all of us and more importantly he needs us to show up at the polls and in those states were a few votes can turn elections, to get other folks out to vote, if you have to drive them yourself.

Hey - Hey- Hey!! I feel great!! This is the first time in my life that I have contributed to a political campaign & volunteered my time. And, I have grandchildren! My nine-year-old granddaughter is so excited about Barack Obama, she canvasses neighborhoods with us volunteers, participates in voter registration drives & contributes one weeks allowance to the campaign every month. This is something she really wants to do. I am so proud to be a part of this grassroots movement!

I am an ardent Obama supporter. I was donating regularly, nearly reaching my max.

However, Obama will not get another dime from me until something gets resolved.

I was one of those supporters who donated during the promotion for a free t-shirt. I did not donate because of that, it just happened that it was my timeline to donate at that time.

However, I have not received the t-shirt yet. I would like to know if any other donors got one. I have contacted barackobama.com and also replied to emails I get from barackobama.com regularly (meaning almost every day) asking about this. But I haven't even gotten so much as a response that someone has read my contacts.

This I do not blame on Obama. He probably has no idea that this problem exists. But this certainly does not set well, knowing how well organized his campaign has been run in all other areas.

Yes, this may be some inconsequential, but it irks me that they would put out this promotion and not follow through.

Be patient; I waited 3 months and I'm ok with that. (There are many of us, now 2mil). Just happy to be a part of the campaign. I donated 47.00 for O's b/day, like many others and had just donated 50.00 before I got the word. I'm broke, but I feel good about it. I have a voice in this campaign. It is my hope and prayer that when fundraising is announced for August, we make that 70 million donation mark. This is my dream for the "O" Team and US. YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been one of the proud 2 million donors since February 2007. And I will continue to donate until Barack is elected president. And in addition, whenever the GOP smears Barack or his wife, Michelle I take great pleasure in opening one of my favorite books. My check book that is and write another investment. Oh! My husband adopted that policy during the primaries. I remember during the ABC debate with Charlie Gibson he got so upset somewhere around the flag pin episode - maybe the Ayers reference - or the capital gains tax pout - anyway he marched over to the computer and I asked him what he was doing. He donated $50 out of pure revenge. He was smacking Gibson with his pocketbook. Said it felt just great. :-)
