The pastor who officiated Jenna Bush's wedding in May recently criticized John McCain for his comments at a biker rally earlier this month. ABC has the story.

"Well, I don't know a lot about John McCain's family history, I do know, however, that as recently as last week I think it was, the Senator made a comment in South Dakota regarding his wife entering some Buffalo Chips contest which is this topless deal and if she were to enter she would probably win it and my personal opinion and based on my understanding of the Christian faith, that's not not, N-O-T, not the type of expression that a presidential candidate, or anyone for that matter who is a follower of the Christian faith, ought to make," said the Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell. "I don't know if that is a perfect case in point, but it surely does help to juxtapose the DNA of Senator Obama, if you would, versus the DNA of Senator McCain."

Caldwell, a close personal friend of President Bush, is the senior pastor at Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Caldwell made his comments on a conference call with reporters sponsored by the Matthew 25 Network, a liberal Christian Group. Matthew 25 is planning to air a pro-Obama ad on Saturday during the Rick Warren forum with Obama and McCain. The ad will air on CNN and possibly MSNBC, according to the group's spokesperson.

You know McCain parallels Clinton more than he does Bush. Before Clinton was elected to the White House, he had a notorious history that everyone overlooked, and although he is historically known as being a good president, he can't escape the fact that his past history manifested itself in even more deviant behavior as President. Should McCain be elected, with every thing everyone think they know about him, and the things we don't know (suspicious of Cindy's wrist injury), with the free pass he is getting from the media, just as they did with Clinton...then what can the citizen's of this country expect from McCain. It's as if we know he is a buffoon, but that has become our comfort zone, we no longer even expect better. Also, he is in the priviledged position of being able to be as bad as he want to be, because the people knew before he was elected, and did so anyway.

I guess we are at the love it or leave it juncture......or possibly there may be other options

Hooray! Someone finally picked up on this bizzare comment from John MCcain and is publishing it to the public as an indication of this man's character. Hopefully this is the sound of the truth train starting to roll out to publish all his and as well Barack's comments. McCain gets too many passes. FN as well as MSM wants to give him a pass on his divorce of his mangled first wife and burn Edwards at the stakes. Imagine if Barack had an extramarital affair.

I am a Christian. I do not wear my religion on my sleeve for all to see, I carry my religious values inside 24/7. This is how I have been taught my Christian values from when I was young. If I were to cast my vote based solely on these Christian values there would be no way I could EVER vote for John McCain.....it baffles me beyond belief that those Christians, so comfortable with elaborating to all their religion, would even give consideration to a McCain Presidency....baffles me.

Is abortion and gays the only thing the Bible teaches? Not my Bible; there were so many other great and wonderful teachings of importance to God's children. John McCain is probably one of the worst candidates we have had in decades that shows NO support to Christian values.

Why is Rev. Wright and his hate speech solely the property of the Obama campaign? He is just as close to the Clintons, having kept that rough-shod marriage of theirs together in the wake of Monica-gate? Or did we all convieniently forget that? Another convienence, as soon as Obama denounced Rev. Wright's remarks, he starts talking all kinds of crazy talk, more than possibly at the Clinton's behest...

sorry I don't agree that what Rev. Wright said is hate speech. I think he was telling it like it is.

This is the real John McCain. It fits right in with his so-called honorable fly-boy past. Dig around some more and one can find all kinds of ways that his views of women are archaic and immature. I'm just glad that someone besides myself was sickened by his presence and speech at that biker's gathering. Offering his wife to enter a topless contest held by a bunch of bikers. He might as well said, "Here, rape my wife, and then vote for me." With all his carrying on about drilling, the metaphor is just priceless.

Can it get any more ridiculous in trying to completely smear a man because HuffPo is trying to get Obama elected. This place has turned into a cult. HuffPo has no depths too low to wallow in .The sad part is that so many of you buy into it. It's about making money for this site, not what is good for the country. The nastier it gets, the more visits it gets . Kind of like people watching a train wreck.Duh.

the moment caught for posterity of a sitting Senator and a candiate for POTUS, leader of the free world, with the hopes and aspirations of every democracy represented, offered his wife to be
a topless candidate..

Undignified does not even begin to cover it...

About like when he called her a 'c---'

tgood, go tune into Fox, Hannity, Limbaugh, Medved, and Gallagher and you'll hear all the Obama smearing you can take. The difference here is that McCain really did attend the Sturgis Ralley and really did offer his wife up for the Buffalo Chip contest. So this isn't a smear - just the sad truth coming out of McCain's inappropriate mouth. Cindy shoud cut his allowance for disrespecting her.

Yes, it can get more ridiculous. See under: Jerome Corsi and the right wing smear machine gearing up to promote his poisonous piece of trash and which John McCain obviously supports, even though the MSM is giving him a pass.

Obama is a more moral, more Christian, person. I don't see how any true Christian can vote for McCain over Obama.

Even though Obama is "Pro-Choice," he is likely to do far more to reduce abortions than Republican one issue panderers have done in several terms.

I think the issue is if Obama had done it, we would be hearing about it from the hate-filled conservative talking heads and so-called *Christian* right from now until the end of eternity. Obama would be called every name, likened to every evil that ever existed, and displayed on the evening news of all the MSM as the devil incarnate.

MSM is bundled and bought by the right. Once the votes are counted watch them try to ingratiate themselves into President Obama's administration - every now and then they're going to drop a little piece of unimportant, even-handed reporting on Obama's side, but the majority of what we're going to hear from now until President Obama is elected will be hands-off Saint McBush.

Some Unitarian Church hung a peace sign and the Bush regime threatened them with audits, removing their tax-free churchy status and god knows what else. Meanwhile American Protestantism has been turned into the Ministry of Republican Propaganda. And America shrugs.

McGripe has no respect for women. After leaving his wife for Sugar Mama and using her millions and her old man's money to get into politics, he turns around and calls her a c--t and then wants her to enter the biker's nude contest. He is a pip !!

He will make sure that Roe is overturned. He called Chelsa ugly and still Hillary thought he was qualified for president and Obama had a speech !!!

Sugar Mama owns 8 homes, a jet he sets his A** in, wears $520 shoes with lifts and he calls Obama an elistist !!! ........and sugar moma just stands there beside him like a Stepford Wife and lets him insult her...

Hope all you PUMAs get your belly full of your new hero.

DIGNITY and INTELLIGENCE
We haven't had either in a US President in many years. Clinton was quite intelligent, though his escapade with Monica drastically undercut his legacy. Neither Bush nor McCain have either dignity nor the requisite intelligence (I mean, saying "nations don't invade nations in the 21st century" -- what kind of amnesia is that?) However, Obama is not only intelligent, he also has a quiet dignity sorely lacking in his opponent. I can't every imagine Obama saying his wife would make a good Miss Buffalo Chip. Come ON.

Cindy should have gone straight back to the hotel and packed up, and grabbed the next Lear Jet out of town.

McCain *IS* Sturgis. A cliche for a bygone era best soon forgotten and relegated to Quinten Tarrantino grindhouse B-grade movies.

Could you imagine Obama saying something like that??

Nothing wrong with Sturgis.. its a good time... But there is something wrong for a person running for President to bethere offering his wife up in a Topless contestant... The guy is almost 72....

His behavour is such that he acts like he might be too young to be president in some respects and too old to function as one physically.

Regards
