Samsung is hoping to steal a little of the Olympic spotlight in Beijing on Thursday as it unveils its latest "eco-phone." Great. Now we're going to make phones out of corn. It's not like we have any other pressing issues regarding corn and the rising price of it. Perhaps once we stop wasting all the corn making useless, expensive ethanol, then we can start making household goods out of it.

I like the bioplastic cups (especially when filled with a local microbrew), but I'm not so sure about the bioplastic flatware. They melt into this starchy goop when they get hot, so you can't use them for stirring coffee or eating hot foods. I hope nobody's bioplastic phones melt, but I assume Samsung has address this somehow.
