Hurricane Fay

Reuters:

Tropical Storm Fay threatened to strengthen into a hurricane as it moved toward Cuba after dousing Haiti and the Dominican Republic on Saturday with torrential rains and killing at least one person.

The sixth cyclone of what experts predict will be an unusually busy Atlantic hurricane season, Fay was expected to be near hurricane strength when it approaches Cuba on Sunday and at hurricane strength over the Florida Keys and off Florida's west coast after that, U.S forecasters said.

As the third Hurricane Season after Katrina draws to a close, it looks like we will be recording close to four years without a major storm hitting the US coastline.

Which makes you wonder about all the Global Alarmists who made all those dire predictions: "Bigger, Stronger, more Devastating!" How could the computer models have been so wrong?

Why should we believe ANYTHING these people are saying? This isn't the first time they have proven themselves to be miserable prophets.

You never believed them before, what's with the sudden anxiety?

Just pointing out WHY I don't believe them.

Psychics make predictions in the Enquirer ever New Year's Eve, but they never follow up on the previous year's predictions. So the Psychics are given credibility.

All the Alarmists were claiming that Katrina was just the beginning;

Now, it looks like it was the finale.

If a hurricane does hit, let's hope W helps FL better than he did New Orleans, and not try to blame FL people for living in a disaster prone area.

Since Florida has tons of electoral votes, you can rest assured that FEMA will be there before Fay is, if it looks like a serious threat. That's quite alot of electoral votes to get thrown away, just ask Bush Sr about that after he ignored things after Andrew, the same way Bush Jr ignored things after Katrina. Jr best be lucky Katrina hit after the re-election. ;)

During Andrew, FEMA was found not to have been updated from being merely a nuclear war protection agency for elected officials. Clinton then pumped it up with qualified and dedicated public servants. FEMA was a good and effective disaster relief agency.

Later, the stupid B*sh (in the destructive Republican mode of making government dysfunctional and undesirable) subsequently pumped FEMA with unqualified party sycophants--just like the old Soviet Union. Then, whoops--Katrina. Just like slamming planes into buildings, nobody could have seen that coming.

If the Hurricane does hit, lets hope the Democrats do a better job of blaming the President, than they did after the floods in Iowa.

They haven't been able to pin a disaster on him for three years now.

Just the monumental disaster of his entire "presidency." I think that's enough for a Millennium. Katrina, however, is quite damning, and the blame will be rightly cast on him and the army corps of engineers for decades. I'd say his cup runneth over.

The media have been hyping every one of these storms up in advance, hoping for some real action. So far they've all petered out. Not good for ratings. Not good for the oil speculators or carbon taxers either.

Al Gore is probably praying for another Katrina so he can sell more carbon credits to stupid liberals who believe his hoax.

I believe the carbon credits crap is what the govt doles out to companies across the nation, so that if one company cuts back on it's polluting, it can give the unused credits to a fellow company, allowing them to surpass their previous limit by using the gifted credits.

Also, if companies buy old cars and have them crushed to get them off the road, they get lots of carbon credits for that. By the way, I can't remember the exact date, but this crap all started back in the 1980's when you had 3 neocon presidential administrations in a row. ;)

I've lived in South Florida for 45 years and this "System" is No Threat to us.
A Little Wind and Rain on Tuesday is what it will ammount to.
Just Another Tuesday Afternoon In The Tropics.

It's just Home Depot trying to unload last years Batteries.

So long as it doesn't get too powerful, and simply brings alot of rain to the southeast, i'm all for it.
