RNC Strives To Be The Greenest Convention In GOP History

In the race for greenness, Republicans are picking up the pace for their upcoming national convention in St. Paul.

Think hybrid electric trucks delivering soft drinks to the Xcel Energy Center. Almost 300 containers for used cans, bottles, paper and all other things recyclable. A thousand bicycles available for convention-goers to get around the Twin Cities. Recycled desk chairs, cubicles and carpeting. Even 45,000 biodegradable discount cards for visitors.

"I think we are going to be the greenest convention in GOP history,' said Joanna Burgos, press secretary for the convention, which will be held Sept. 1-4.

The city of St Paul has been screaming for volunteers because the RNC is too cheap to hire people.
The RNC is going to leave a big mess and they expect St Paul to clean up after them. Green my hindend!

As much as this is a gimmick (i.e. they obviously don't truly believe in the cause), it's better than nothing. At this point we should be happy with what we get from them, authentic or not.

How incredible!!! The green GOP facade will never cease to be anything other than a facade. McCain has recruited Lieberman as a green front man, yet McCain has become the candidate of drill here, drill there and drill everywhere mentality. What part of this is green. If you have an ounce of integrity McCain, then show up for a vote on energy. Put principal before hype and actually propose a clean energy plan that is not a facade. For the time being, you are nothing short of being an opportunist who is trying to parlay a facade ( a hoax) on the voting public.
