How big a deal is today's veepstakes comment from Sen. Joe Biden that "I'm not the guy"?

A figure familiar with Biden's thinking says the remark is hardly consequential.

"That is a comment that he typically gives for people who ask about [the vice presidency]," the source said, adding that it has been the senator's stock answer to the question for weeks now.

In other words, let the speculation continue.

Picking Joe Biden is about all Obama could do anymore to win me over. I don't like Barak and his sychophant circus.
I'd much rather have a dull, boring president who stays out of my life and off the TV and is competent and gets things done.

I have favorite rock stars and celebrities, and they are NOT politicians.

While I admire your devotion to Tony Orlando and Pauly Shore, some of us would like an energetic president who is willing to get things done. After 8 years of B#sh we certainly need someone capable of getting things done. McSame is not the answer, only a continuation.

I have it on good authority that Gen. Clark said just today (while riding by in a hybrid car) that "I am the guy." Hmmmm?.... Do you think?.... Maybe..... My sources are often right.

Oh OK, so Biden says that he is "not the guy" but we are not supposed to believe him because he is such a prankster and he has been going around for weeks "giving that stock answer." HuH? In any case, Biden is a terrible choice for VP,he comes across as an angry loose cannon type. Seriously, did you see/hear his campaign stump speeched in Iowa? It was like he was YELLING at everybody all the time. Besides, remember when he said that Obama was "articulate and clean"? Yeah, what a good pick. Oh did I mention that he is from Delaware, which Obama will win no matter what.

The more I look at Biden the more I like him. He makes a good contrast with Obama and he needs a german shepherd for a running mate. Sure he's loud and strong in voice and deed. If he were a racehorse, we'd call him "honest".

I am beginning to believe that those of you who are bashing Biden lately are secretly Republicans who know in your heart that if Biden is the VP choice, your goose is cooked. You are flooding the boards with ill words about Biden with the hopes that Obama's people are reading and they will pick someone else.

If picking Joe Biden for VP means that the GOP's goose is cooked, why not just nominate Biden for President, which would really finish them off? Seriously, with all the Biden worship on HuffPost, why didn't he win the nomination?

I was a supporter from the beginning. The MSM never ever mentioned him in the primaries. He had the best lines. He was cited in all the debates "I agree with Joe. Joe is right" But according the media it was about Clinton, Edwards and Obama. No one else. And I might add, what a winner Edwards turned out to be!

Maybe if other states had the chance to vote for him the numbers would have been different. The Iowa caucus system made it impossible for the rest of us to do so.

NewsFlash == OBAMA is the junior Senator from Illinois... despite the fact that he hasn't done much in that capacity.

BIDEN should be our candidate... Let's hope for the sake of the country that he is either VP or Secy of State...

And as for "skeletons in his closet", the closest thing you could call a 'skeleton" is the case of non-attribution during a speech in 1988...the SAME KIND OF NON-ATTRIBUTION that OB AMA "committed" in a speech this year, but which the media felt was no big deal.

NEWSFLASH, Blue, =McCain has 35 years of experience and knows nothing after all these years.

In the last 100 years presidents with little national government experience have done quite well if-- unlike the current lame duck-- they surround themselves with smart people, know how to listen, and have demonstrable leadership skills. FDR and JFK come to mind. The two presidents with the most impressive government resumes? Ford and Bush I.

I disagree with you that McCain "knows nothing." I'm reminded of Mondale's line in one of the debates with Reagan: "It's not what he doesn't know that worries me; it's what he does know that just ain't so."

Just so that you can have some "light' shine into that dark mind of yours:

Here's a little truth that can keep you away from the "ignorant" label:

Obama lesgislation:

Obama's legislation lists is too long, so I'll mainly categorize some of the bills.
During the first - 8 - eight years of Obama's elected service, he introduced (sponsored) over 820 bills. He introduced some of the following:
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.

During Obama's first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These inculded **the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 - became law, **The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, - became law, **The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law, **The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more.

In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096.
An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no experience, and is not ready to be president.
Obama is not just a talker, speech giver. He's a doer, for the good of America and the world.

Pass it on....It's impressive!

Has anyone ever taken a picture of this guy that doesn't make him look insane?

My problem with Biden is that this country could really use a veep who is interested in and experienced with domestic issues. The republicans have let this land go to rot.

He also has a lot of skeletons in the old closet.

Biden isn't interested in or experienced with domestic issues? He not only has good positions on most domestic issues, but he's led on many of them. Two examples are his stellar work on the Judiciary Committee (Thomas hearings excluded); and his civil rights record, especially with gender issues (the VIolence Against Women Act was his).

Hillary is from Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Just for the record the Vice Presidential candidate will be appearing with Obama in Illinois on Saturday. Which means the announcement will be prior to that, it will be Joe Biden.
