Gore

Al Gore will reportedly speak at the final night of the Democratic convention -- a coveted spot, but one that should put to rest the rumors (however faint) that the former vice president might reprise his role for Barack Obama.

The story appeared on CNN.

"We are learning," the network's anchor said, "that former vice president Al Gore has accepted a speaking role at the Democratic National Convention. It will happen on the final night of the convention. Of course, he'll be appearing on the same stage as Barack Obama receiving the party's presidential nomination officially. Not sure what he'll say or exactly what time he will give it. But we know and we have been reporting there's going to be a lot of people there. They're expecting the crowd to be something like 70,000 or so. Former Vice President Al Gore has accepted a speaking role at the Democratic National Convention."

Gore has long stated that he does not want to return to the White House whether as vice president or in another administration role. But his statements have not been enough to tamp down the (unlikely) speculation that he might be tapped as Obama's number two. The selection of a Thursday evening speaking spot should, however, put the final nail in that coffin. Vice presidential candidates traditionally address the convention on Wednesday night.

Undoubtedly, having Gore take the stage the same evening as Obama pushes a sharp message, reminding voters about the fundamental dynamic of this election: how different things could have been had George Bush not taken the White House in 2000.

Al Gore will reportedly speak at the final night of the Democratic convention -- a coveted spot, but one that should put to rest the rumors (however faint) that the former vice president might reprise...

I'm hoping Gores presence will remind everyone on how the election was stolen in 2000, and
how he was majorley screwed by the right wing hacks!
It will be nice to see him again! He's one smart guy and would of made an excellent president!

What a fantasy ticket that would make, Obama/Gore.

Gore's going to speak about energy, no surprise here. And since it's beneath Bill Clinton to "pass the torch" to Obama, Gore's going to make the announcement that Obama's the Democratic candidate and will introduce him as the "next President of the United States."

Gore has become a true statesman.

Bill has become an embarrassment.

Strange since Bill is the one who was POTUS.

Someone should alert the Clintons. They are suddenly very concerned about fair elections. I am sure they will get right on it.

oooh this will be good...Gore has two mantras that will be remembered and exploited by the Republicans 1) the sci fi globalphobia of course and 2) his very presence reminding every one how he lost the election to Pres Bush when he could not even carry his or Clinon's states, which would have made the Fla Supremes trying to rewrite law moot.

Gore lost the election because he was incapable of carrying his own home state of Tennessee. If he had gotten a few scrimpy votes there and WON in 2000 like native sons are supposed to do in elections, there would have been no Florida, No Bush, Iraq, Georgia, etc., etc., etc.

Having losers who lost by their on volition is not a great way to present yourself as a new candidate for change. Its the same old, same old.

The Clintons are right about Obama-the longer this campaign goes on and the more people see Obama-the less impressed they will be with him-when was the last time anybody fainted at a Messiah rally? He is very good speaker but talking just change doesn't make it anymore!!

If you knew how to use the internet you would know that his plans are actually a lot more indepth than MsSame. "The Clintons are right about Obama-the longer this campaign goes on and the more people see Obama-the less impressed they will be with him" do you have any evidence of that because many Republicans I have talked to say they are voting Obama or Bob Barr.

Excellent! Totally appropriate that the real 2000 WINNER of the Presidency, speak on behalf of our march into the Fall. Further, Al Gore can repair Clinton damage and remind Democrats it was HE who was and is the real standardbearer of the Democratic Party -- other than Barack, himself. Were it not for The Supreme Court acting politically, Al Gore would have been our President. Time for Clinton Inc. to be reminded as they attempt to hijack the Convention -- as Hillary's debut for 2012, of course inappropriately.

Finally, Al Gore may have something to say to Joe Lieberman - before he goes to the Republican Convention.

Perhaps, but Barack has earned his stripes by doing the heavy lifting to end Clinton Inc.'s dominance over the Party in a BRUTAL WAR - which Al Gore never did -- and should have. So, they would be a partnership.

Al Gore is not VP material-he never had a debate with experts on the other side of man-made global warming. Of course Al was smart enough that he would have got his clock cleaned.

You apparently missed his drubbing of Ross Perot back in 1993 over NAFTA on Larry King. Gore was brilliant and showed how crazy Perot's xenophobia was.

Therefore, he is VP material.

Love that Al gets the final word over Bill -- finally. The Clinton political epitaph, if you will -- because Hillary Clinton doesn't DARE return to NYC since we ended her Campaign by forcing her friends in the NYS delegation to choose their jobs or Clinton Inc.

We haven't seen or heard from her in over two months. The longer, the better.

good point!

he may be anticipating chaos by the Clinton's and knows Gore is the only person who can supersede
the Clintons and end the Convention on a powerful, positive note.

Al Gore is making millions selling carbon credits-now another Mexican scientist believes we are going into a global cooling period. Sun spots much more important than carbon dioxide.

Sunspots are more important than carbon dioxide. You obviously know nothing of planetary science. The majority of earths carbon has been locked underground. We drill it and mine it then put it back into the atmosphere and at the same time cut down the trees and plants that remove carbon from the atmosphere. The last time the earth had more carbon in the atmosphere than in the ground was 125,000 years ago.

http://co2.cms.udel.edu/Increasing_Atmospheric_CO2.htm

You may want to do research next time before you make yourself look stupid.

While the suns magnetic field does play an important role...the increase or decrease due to the magnetic field of the sun is a naturally occuring phenomena, one which we have no control over. The carbon levels today havent been seen for hundreds of thousands of years the difference is that we are taking carbon out of the ground and putting it into the atmosphere. when you combine the naturally occuring fluctuations in co2 levels "caused by sun spots" with the manmade increases caused by industrialization you have a planetary crisis.

Who actually believed that Gore could possibly be Obama's VP?? That idea had as much chance as Oprah for VP.
