Keith Olbermann On McCain's War With NBC: Grow Up (VIDEO)

On MSNBC's "Countdown" last night, Keith Olbermann tore into John McCain for complaining about NBC election coverage -- and for his attacks on Barack Obama. Watch:

What's the old saw? Never get into an argument with people who buy ink by the barrel? Is there an electronic equivalent?

I'm not even sure you can't beat a media organization. But if you're a presidential candidate and you come after it with a craven and silly argument - and you follow a path previously tried by a now ex-presidential candidate - you've probably been poorly advised.

Thus tonight, between Senator McCain's manager's broadside against us, and his creative but tinny-sounding attacks on Senator Obama today at the VFW Convention, I've got a Special Comment planned.

I think something changed with Andrea during the Obama overseas trip. She was covering it in her usual snide way when Obama was attacked by the repubs regarding that aborted hospital visit in Germany. That very day I was complaining to a producer at MSNBC about Mrs. Greenspan's rightwing slant. Later that night everything changed. She went on the air several times to defend him as an eye witness to how it really all went down.

Could it be that Andrea Mitchell is actually being won over to the Light? Maybe seeing a decent man being smeared by lying, power hungry crooks like The Keating 5's McCain and his Neo-Con thugs shook her up.

We'll see. Maybe more reporters will start to tell the truth because it's the right thing.

Olberman's speech reminds me very much of Edward R. Murrow's television takedown of Senator Joe McCarthy back in the 1950's. Given all of the similarities between McCain's and McCarthy's rhetoric, I think Oberman's speech was appropriate.

Back then, McCarthy was a fringe player in the Republican party. Today, McCain is the Republican party.

BTW, anyone who watches Olbermann, doesn't need their mind changed. He doesn't break a single story or do any investigations, just rhetoric.

Keith is MSNBC''s answer to Bill O'Reilly. Sure he is smarter, funnier and better looking than Bill but on the whole most republican's are strident, greedy and wrinkled so it all makes sense.

Keith Olbermann has broken many stories that MSM will not touch. Just as Keith continues to say McCain keeps questioning Obama's patriotism. Finally, Wolfe Blitzer is saying something about it, only after Obama spoke directly to McCain in a speech.

I think my favorite thing about Keith, after his willingness to stand up for truth, is his ability to show the American right wing Taliban are more like monkeys in a cage. it's easy to get them riled up, screaming and tossing their poop at you.

Like most here, I like Keith. Say what you will about him but I haven't seen any posts here where his detractors actually refute what he's saying. KO has been steadfast in his counterattacks on the assault the Bush administration has launched against the Constitution. Along comes John McCain, half riding on Bushco coattails. Did you expect that he wouldn't catch any flak? The reason McCain has distanced himself from Bush is if the American public ever saw them together they'd realize that while Bush is psychopath, McCain really isn't good at anything. (which is what they had in common before Bush found his special talent.) At least Bush had direction and focus. McCain has his POW status and not much else as evidenced by the strength of his ever-changing rhetoric. When you see the msm ignore or cover for McCain, you're seeing that top 2% doing their damnest to keep the music playing while their Titanic continues to sink.

We are taliking about the office of the POTUS. How does a person who has no plan, who uses straw man arguments and 527's to smear and is computer illiterate have anyone's support?
