They're doing it again tonight on CNN. They showed clips of their shows on each candidate airing tonight, and they travelled down the same ridiculous path.
Suzanne Malveaux (sp?) showed a clip on her Obama documentary that discussed how he challenged the signatures on the petitions of his opponent and had her removed from the ballot.
Thus making him a ruthless politician from the start.
John King showed a clip from his McCain documentary and it was all warm and fuzzy music, and what a hero he was for surviving the airplanes exploding on the deck of the destroyer.
Anyone who knows anything about Chicago politics knows that signatures on nominating petitons are often bogus, and they are routinely challenged. Obama simply applied the rules that were available to him, and unfortunately for his opponent, her campaign workers did a sloppy job and the signatures were disqualified. She was removed from the ballot, and he won.
This does not make him ruthless, it makes him smart and proves he pays attention to the details.
Just the content of those two clips was enough to let me know where CNN stands. I have not decided whether or not I will watch their documentaries this evening.
The most important thing is that the signatures were FAKE. CNN's coverage was a backhanded hit piece on Obama, an hour and a half on an upstart politician with no experience. Suzanne Malveaux actually had the bile to qualify peoples' discomfort with Obama's political history by saying "they know nothing of his record."
Amazing. Really? And her response is to avoid pointing out any of it? She offered not one bill the man passed in 11 years in politics. Not one single bit of legislation. They went out of their way to avoid the easily-accessible Illinois Republicans who endorsed Obama and pledged how well he worked across party lines.
This was organized and loaded.
I saw the hour long hit piece on Obama.
This one minute video sums it up. I am an objective individual. But it was a hit piece. Senators McCain's was American, Brave, Hero...
How was it a "hit" piece? If that is what you think it was, than you did not actually watch the whole hour. It was very fair. I think they went out of their way to skip over some provocative parts that Barack Obama actually mention in his book.
FNC took the "high road" but than that is so rarely traveled these days, most have no idea how to recognize it.
Everything was truthful both nights. Fair reporting.
But not if you support either. In that case, one must be uplifted and the other vilified.
