Cindy McCain Mother Teresa Story Fabricated

Gilding the lily is nothing new to politics. From the 1840s when William Henry Harrison claimed to have been born in a log cabin (it was actually a Virginia plantation) to Ronald Reagan's reminiscing about flying over Germany in World War II (he did, but only in a movie), politicians have taken perfectly good stories and embellished them.

The latest embellishments come from the McCain camp. Cindy McCain has repeatedly referred to herself as an "only child." This week came news that she actually has two half sisters, although apparently she had very little contact with them.

The McCain campaign had also put out the story that Mother Teresa "convinced" Cindy to bring home two orphans from Bangladesh in 1991.

Mrs. McCain, it turns out, never met Mother Teresa. (Once contacted by the Monitor, the campaign revised the story on its website.)

Well, I guess if you keep shoving the fact that you were a POW almost 40 years ago, and pretend you were the most important one, then the media lets you say and do anything you want including telling bunches of non-existent stories without being called on it. Can't say anything negative about a POW even if he is running for President (don't know what one has to do with the other) and about to get us into wars in Iran, North Korea and Russia. It is shameful the way every word Obama says is examined and re-examined, while the McCains can say anything, no matter how outrageous.

It's not what you like about, it is that you have a pattern of lying. To think this woman would lie about a simple recipe and not one but twice, she was caught the first time and that didn't stop her, she went right on and did it again.
